Seceding from sanity? That would imply they were sane to begin with.

I was watching a TV news show back before the election ... the libtards were on saying that 2008 was the election they thought they had finished off the bubba vote. Rude and crude they were -- They were so happy that the white guys would not be able to determine the election outcome.

I have a news flash for them ... we're baaaaack.

Kathleen Parker writes: "Hefty majorities in the Northeast, the Midwest and the West believe Obama was born in the United States. But in the land of cotton, where old times are not by God forgotten"...

parker is a (useless) tool of the left. Who cares what she scribbles?

The South has been the graveyard of the Democratic Party's dreams since the liberals and socialists took over the party. Continuing to alienate southerners with elitist, arrogant attitudes is their biggest weakness.

The Left hates White people who work hard and pay the taxes for their stupid Socialist programs. I guess that is insane.

“That gal from Alaska is such a quintessentially male Southerner!/sarc”

I think they use the term “Southerner” as code for people we’d just think of as “regular people” - people they think of as The Other or something. I don’t know all her (Palin) political positions YET (although, now that she’s out of McCain’s shadow, we should be finding out as time goes on), but she most definitely is a “regular person” in outlook on lots of things. Something missing entirely from the Beltway and something desperately needed on the national stage.

Something desperately needed in charge of the GOP.

Reagan - despite being a former movie star - was such a “regular person” too.

Sure. But no political party is going to get quite as crazy or as stupid as individual bloggers do. At least candidates and party machines aren’t going to say the kinds of things in public that Internet moonbats do.

Whatever Republicans become is completely up to them. If they keep going like they have over the last 8 years, the article may be somewhat correct. If they choose to be more like Reagan, especially in this day and age, then they can come out on top.

I look at it this way:

We’ll have to edure whatever we get right now anyway because elections do have concequences. Many were fed up with RINOs and having to hold their nose in the voting booth so they stayed home or voted for someone else. While RINOs probably would not be pushing socialized medicine down our throats, it would have been some other form of big government dressed up in free market clothes that would come back to rape us. They just don’t get that we’d rather be left alone.

I will not vote RINO now or ever again. Come what may, we the people can sort it out and we will everntually get what we want.

Kevin Drum, (born October 19, 1958) is an American political blogger and columnist. He was born in Long Beach, California and now lives in Irvine, California.

As for the 2003 Iraq War, he was originally in favor of the American led war but immediately before the attack he came out in opposition to it. He said, "Before the war started I switched to opposition on practical grounds (i.e., that George W. Bush's approach was incapable of accomplishing the goals it was meant to accomplish). Since then, I've pretty much come to the conclusion that, in fact, I should have opposed it all along on philosophical grounds: namely that it was a fundamentally flawed concept and had no chance of working even if it had been competently executed."

We-uns here in the South don't cotton much to them liberal insults, especially from a Yankee.

Our boys is going to have to get together and vote them there liberal-types out of office.

Low taxes, less government, strong defense, more military spending, a 600-ship navy, a missile defense, more weapons, more freedom, no abortions, more pro-family legislation, prayer in schools, less transfer payments -- these here are things I support.

Guess that makes me a Southerner. And I guess Mr. Drum would not view me as one of the “individual Southern whites who are wholly admirable.” Now that is something I cotton to.

they are trying to start a civil war. period. using class warfare, and racial tension which they will ratchet up as much as possible. they want a racial war and a class war since those things would give them an advantage to say “see...we told you white people are all racists and that everyone should be completely equal socially, economically and politically, it’s the only way to fix this.”
