Stimulus bill spending has slowed to a trickle, despite President Obama’s June order to his Cabinet to speed it up.
The average stimulus spending per week has dropped severely, to just $4.2 billion over the past month from $9.7 billion during the prior four months. The government spent $2.9 billion in the week ending Aug. 7.
Taxpayer groups say the numbers show spending decisions are random and prove that the $787 billion stimulus program has had no effect on the economy.
“This is a typical bureaucracy. They don’t operate in an efficient way. They can’t operate in an efficient way and make an impact,” said Leslie Paige, media director for Citizens Against Government Waste.
The spending has slowed despite Mr. Obama’s declaration in June that he was “not satisfied” with its pace, and his demand that his Cabinet secretaries accelerate the distribution of stimulus funds.

This bill was so damn important 6 months ago. But, alas, the world didn’t end, the money didn’t get spent and Washington is full of sh*t....

Speed up the "distribution" of "stimulus funds". What a joke.
What that means in layman's terms is "spend, steal, create more government empires with the money we stole from taxpayers."
Give the money back polls have already been started. That “package” was meant to scare the hell out of outside influences. The Gov needs to come clean, ain’t gonna happen.
Didn't Michelle's husband recently brag about how the economy was recovering solely because of the stimulus?

They’ve probably got it all in their pockets, so there isn’t any LEFT to “hurry up”.
Look at it this way. The purpose of the stimulus is to get the elite re-elected. Why would they spend it now? They’re building their networks of vote rigging and electorate intimidating cadres, behind the scenes, and keeping the mainstream media and leftist lawyers on retainers for the up and coming 2010 election. There is a reason most of the Democrats are displaying contempt for citizens at these town hall meetings, rather than kissing rears. They think they’ve got a lock on the next election, no matter what “the little people” say. Watch for massive and very targeted “stimulus” spending next year. Hewitt says “if it isn’t close they can’t cheat”, but that gap requirement is getting bigger every year the communists hold office.
I'm looking for the spending (bribes) to increase dramatically just in time for the midterm elections next year.
Stimulus spending rate dropped, you say? GREAT! Let’s stop it all together, and give the money back to the people from whom it was confiscated.
It’s time to take back the country.
