The 24-page report released this month by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) entitled, The Second Wave: Return of the Militia is sweeping in its indictment.
In it, police officers, soldiers, veterans, tax defiers, Patriots, tea party members, right-wing militias, birthers and sovereign citizen proponents are all said to exhibit elements of a resurging anti-government movement that reached its zenith in the mid-1990s and spiraled out of control with violence and domestic terrorism.
A number of national and local citizens groups are called out in the report the National Rifle Association, Minutemen, Oath Keepers as well as mainstream conservative politicians and media personalities U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), U.S. Rep. Spencer Bachus (R Ala.), Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Fox News host Glenn Beck, CNNs Lou Dobbs, MSNBC commentator and former Republican presidential candidate Pat Buchanan as evidence of this growing domestic threat.

Sheriff Richard Mack is a great guy. I've heard rumors he's planning a run for governor of Arizona. That'd be awesome!

I have met Sheriff Mack. He is an impressive individual. I would love to see him elected to higher office.

Someone should let the Sheriff know about the typo, should be George III, not James.

What I want to know, is what violence and domestic terrorism ever rose out of the "militia movement".
Waco was a government operation, there would have been no violence without the BATF attack.
Ruby Ridge was a setup (and earlier), so, ditto, no violence without the government messing with someone.
The "Freemen" in Montana were apparently scam artists, not a militia, and the Oklahoma City bombing was supposedly done by a 'lone nutcase' and a friend, without anyone officially pursuing what could well have been ties to jihadist groups in the Phillipines.

Only if you have some sort of agenda where labeling somebody a ‘racist’ is needed.

For the record, Paul Revere rode out to warn the militias about the soldiers of King GEORGE III not King James III.

I agree with your post. This is left wing propaganda pure and simple.
I've never belonged to a militia but the times are feeling right to start one of my own.
I'm tired of lying politicians stealing our nations wealth, religious zealots trying to impose a theocracy, and illegals with a socialist cause looking for a free ride. There are many millions of folks just like me in this great country. The feds need to get out of my Medical records, out of my check book, out of my bedroom, and out of my states politics.

The SPLC has outlived its usefulness. They are merely a propaganda organ of the Democrat and Communist Parties nowadays.

Someone or some group of investigators need to get a group together and investigate any shenanigans that is going on with the Southern Poverty Law Center.
To: stainlessbanner
They never had any in the first place.

religious zealots trying to impose a theocracy
I hope you aren’t trying to insinuate Christians are trying to install a theocracy, becuase nothing could be further from the truth.
However if you are talking about Islam, that is a differnt story.

Too bad the SPLC doesn't have enough credibility to indict a fly for buzzing.
GET 'EM, Sheriff Mack!
