Several national advertisers, including some Wisconsin companies, have pulled their commercials from the broadcast of the Glenn Beck Program on the Fox News Channel after Beck called President Barack Obama a "racist" who has a "deep-seated hatred for white people....
Several advertisers then removed their commercials from the show, including ....
Racine-based S.C. Johnson & Son Inc. [and] Plymouth, Wis.-based Sargento Foods Inc., a privately held company, pulled its ads from Beck's show.
Barbara Gannon, spokeswoman for Sargento, told BizTimes today, "I can confirm that we have instructed our media buyer not to buy any advertising that would appear during the Glenn Beck Show. We market our products to people regardless of their political affiliations, yet we do not want to be associated with hateful speech used by either liberal or conservative television hosts."

And I can confirm I will never buy another Sargento product again. I am writing to Barbara Gannon and I urge other Freepers to do so too
Sargento, SC Johnson products —> dumped from shopping list.
Any company that boycotts free speech... I will boycott them. We should do a nation campaign on it.
See thread HERE
Go to DefendGlenn.com to contact all advertisers and either thank them for sticking with Glenn, or warn them if they have canceled. Keep the pressure on. As Glenn would say "we Surround THEM".
I’ll be boycotting those who boycott Beck.
Stand for something, or fall for anything.
Did it...and GEICO too...
People do not buy Sargnto..if you have nay take it back to the store and tell them you want your money back..
The funny part is that one company makes cleaning products. The other makes premium cheese. I’d bet that conservatives use a lot more of their products than liberals.
Thank you for the email address. I actually DID buy Sargento cheese on a regular basis. I will NOT buy them again (unless they come out and apologize to Beck).
Amazing how thinned skinned those advertizers are. It’s ok to have that commercial of the gal eating the whopper with the juice running down her mouth. But Glen Beck is evil? I think not.
Johnson product goes on no buy list for me.
We are doing the same and in addition we are going out and buying thier competitors products and including the label with bar code in the protest letter........show them you have moved away, show them the money sprinting away from them.
Seems like good sense when it comes to business is to stay neutral in regards to public politics. Why tick off customers be they conservatives, liberals or others. Keep the political opinions in the personal realm. IMHO.
Also, Progressive, GEICO, Lawyers.com. Proctor and Gamble, Lenscrafters.
Does anyone realize how much purging of cleaning supplies will be necessary to get rid J&J’s products?
I guess we can all just go with baking soda and vinegar.
You have to laugh at Geico’s hypocritical email reply to a Freeper who contacted them.
To paraphrase, they said they pulled their ads because they are not political and don’t want the message of their ads to be lost BY INFLAMMATORY STATEMENTS.
Hey, PR dolts at Geico, when you mis-characterize an opinion stated on observation as INFLAMMATORY, you are making a political statement.
Eff Geico and stomp on that bug-eyed, ugly little green turd they use as a mascot.
Find a good janitorial supply house in your area, you will be much happier. I know you buy a gallon instead of a quart but its worth it and the product is better.
NO SARGENTO !!!!
what’s the scoop on GEICO ?
Mrs. Esopman
Herb Kohl is video tapping his town hall meeting. I ask every one I know to boycott all Kohl Dept. Stores! Kohl is a bald headed COWARD and so is Fiengold and Doyle The Boil!
I have written them as well. I am also forwarding this to everyone on my email list. I used to buy Sargento cheese, but I won’t anymore.
