Shepard Fairey talks about his art (Obama Artist) for Moveon.org event

MoveOn.org is hosting an event at the Andy Warhol Museum to salute graphic artist Shepard Fairey, who created the Obama "Hope" poster. The artist was busy today working on an installation across the street from the museum.

I work next door to the Warhol Museum and watched this week as they put this "art" up on the Rosa Villa.

Obama will host an event at the museum for the G20 and I will be out of work for 3 days. I talked to one of the museum employees yesterday and they said the Obama's are driving them nuts with requirements. And the Secret Service is driving them even more nuts.

I'm just pissed that I won't be billing my outrageous fees for three days because Pittsburgh decided it would be a good idea to host the G20 summit.

It ALMOST makes sense for the Warhol Museum to celebrate Fairey. (A)his art ripped off the merchandised art schemes of Warhol himself, but (B)he was in part responsible for giving this nation our first “15 minute celebrity” president.

Propaganda and nothing but. A triumph of the swill. Marketing over substance.

The man is clearly not ready for prime time. Before long even Bush’s detractors will have to admit that he’s making Bush look better than Obama in all areas (including dealing with the opposition).

It isn't a 'coincidence' those stars on Gamaliel's poster are upside down.

This is pretty creepy stuff. What is the purpose of this artist to use those symbols, if other than what appaers to be intended.
