S.C. Johnson Denies They Pulled Ads from Beck
Despite Wild Claims from Boycotters, Few Companies Confirm They've Cancelled Ads
Several in our community have received the following email from SC Johnson...
Patricia,
Thank you for sharing your concerns as there is some potentially misleading information on the web about this topic.
SC Johnson has not pulled or cancelled advertising for the Glenn Beck show, as we never directed our advertising to this particular program. In general, our goal is to provide good, informative ads and we select those programs and/or networks that make the most sense given our consumer base.
Regards,
Denise

Clearly advertisers who had previously said they were withdrawing ads from Glenn's show are now feeling the pressure of thousands of loyal Beck fans expressing their anger and threatening to go to their competitors for business. It's becoming clear that a handful of 40-something losers blogging in their Mom's basement managed to put an initial scare into these companies, and many of them made a BIG mistake in cancelling their ads.
Now they will find out how big an economic force is 2.4 million viewers who actually work for a living.
it sounds like a bit of doubletalk on Johnson’s part.
The boycott doesn’t work if the ads are still on Fox. They ALL still are. They just shifted them around. It is a sham to ease some criticism.
Well I have been buying 3M for thirty years for quality. They advertised on Olbermann. I emailed and told them I will never buy a 3M product again.
DefendGlenn.com has received hundreds of emails in just its first few hours. The leftwing crazies can't come close to matching what our side will throw at these advertisers over the next week or so.
Take down the MSNBC adverisers. We are the purchasers..
I know it’s all about $$$$, but I think it’s sad that FOX is letting Progressive Insurance advertise on their network in the 1st place. They named themselves “Progressive” for a reason....having been founded (???) by ultra-leftist multi-millionaire Peter Lewis, etc.
I would boycott SC Johnson anyway, they sponsor a lot of socialist stuff. Boycott any advertiser that caves in to the liberal fascist thug tactics.
Just wait til the government has to buy everything for everyone. Think they’ll buy from Conservatives?
I don’t know about that... You can buy a whole lot of munchies with a book full of food stamps.
When I first started seeing these threads on FR... I challenged the posters to show me "proof" of the boycotts... all they could link to was some liberal blogs...
Some proof!! It shows that folks can still be fooled by propaganda...
awww..... the DUmmies over at the DUmpster will be so upset. They spent all week calling and writing, then partying because they thought Beck lost his advertisers. I wanted to sign up and tell them, when you have ratings like Beck, they couldn’t care less what a few moonbats think.
Or so they say... Daily Kos doesn’t have the cleanest record when it comes to honesty really. We all know that they back Obama 100%. Why believe what they say, unless there is proof. Did they show some sort of proof? (And, we’re not falling for the fake photoshop jobs like the BC crap either, Kos Komrades! LOL)
Perhaps they are trying to make companies afraid of smear campaigns — companies in industries they want to take over, have personal grudges against, or even to cause more economic harm to pass their agenda. That’s all the fascists over at Daily Kos know how to do — act like thugs. That’s also an option as I see it as to the truth in this situation...
I see a lot here who for some reason believe the claims of Kos and be against the company itself is the only reason I mention this. Do we know for a fact that the folks at S.C. Johnson are supporters of Obama’s fascist agenda — they are after all a “big corporation” run by “evil capitalists”... Just saying...
MSNBC apparently never cared about making money with Olbermann or they would never put up with his miserable ratings all these years. Sometimes a boycott just won’t work. This is probably one of those times.
You know how a president only gets his face on currency posthumously? I think baraq's face should be on the food stamp while he's still with us...
I wish Beck had a more polished delivery. He’s difficult to watch.
That said, he’s probably the most honest man in news right now.
Maybe being unpolished and honesty go together in a business where image is often more important than the truth.
According to Newsbusters, Sargento Foods (cheeses for one) have pulled their ads with Glenn Beck. They’re off my grocery list now.
Just as often, boycotts DO work.
In other words, it depends on what your definition of pulled is. They never "directed" their advertising to Beck, so, telling stations not to run their ads during his program wouldn't be pulling them.
