Joshua has been taking the bus to his local Whole Foods in New York City every five days for the past two years. This week, he said he'll go elsewhere to fulfill his fresh vegetable and organic produce needs.
Customers are threatening to boycott Whole Foods stores after the company's CEO, John Mackey, wrote an op-ed discussing his ideas for health care reform. (Getty Images) More Photos"I will never shop there again," vowed Joshua, a 45-year-old blogger, who asked that his last name not be published.
Like many of his fellow health food fanatics, Joshua said he will no longer patronize the store after learning about Whole Foods Market Inc.'s CEO John Mackey's views on health care reform, which were made public this week in an op-ed piece he wrote for The Wall Street Journal.

Many of the posts on ABC News blog are Pro - Mackey, pro alternatives to Death Race 3200.
A regular profile in courage.
There’ll be fewer hippies there next time I go.
Something that's struck me, I've never experienced a Super Market where so many people run into eachother or block the aisles.
I mean, it's epidemic there.
And then I realized, it's because there's so many liberals who are by definition narcissistic and self centered - they have no awareness that other people in the world exist.
If I had a Whole FOods anywhere near me, I’d shop there.
Joshua sounds like a 12 year old in a 45 year old body.
Did he stomp his foot as he said, “I will never shop there again”?
Growing up, I was taught: “Don’t cut off your nose to spite your face.”
So Joshua’s not going to Whole Foods anymore?
Then I’m going there more often.
Absolutely. I used to avoid Whole Foods like the plague because of the clientele. I never bothered to look into the organization, but now that I know more, I will start going there, especially since I will have to put up with fewer of the former clientele.

People are calling for him to expand into their (more conservative) areas on the blog...kinda cool. I think this boycott jive will backfire on the libtards big time...
One thing about conservatives, we know how to handle our money..:)
The article says a few years ago (2007) Mackey reduced his CEO pay to $1 (he’s very wealthy), because he didn’t want to work for money any longer.
Maybe he would like to run for office? :)
Imagine a Whole Foods without liberals! :) Now I can finally shop there without seeing John Kerry bumper stickers!!!

Same thing at COSTCO, which I don’t like to shop at because of their libtard owners, but I do sometimes, I must confess...it’s hard to not be conflicted in the tangled web, somewhere..
It will be interesting to see how Mackey’s company does in the face of a boycott.

If only we could cleanse the Republican party like this...:)
It will be interesting to see how Mackeys company does in the face of a boycott.

And in the with the tail wind of the counter boycott! Politics in this country is so weird sometimes..

“Tijeras_Slim” - I look forward to you putting your real name on FR.
Being anonymous is OK. Our country has a great history of such.
If I had a Whole FOods anywhere near me, Id shop there.

Email their corporate HQ and suggest they expand to near you...Their expansion plans may have just changed a bit with that WSJ article!
“Did he stomp his foot as he said, I will never shop there again?”
You mean like the many boycott-a-day folks on FR?
I love Whole Foods’ product mix, but the fascist hippie customers and ostentatiously pierced staff members have always been a drawback. Now, maybe, not so much. It might be worth the drive over there more often.
