I buy my dairy and meat there so I can get stuff that doesn’t have cow hormones and animal antibiotics in it. I buy seafood there because it is the highest quality available where I live. I love their produce, regardless of the organic label (as if inorganic were the alternative) because it is just so darn good. I also like their Asian and Latin sections. The organic movement, and labeling, I agree with you, is a sham. People need to do their own research, read labels and ask questions. I would be happy for the government to butt out of this, because I trust Whole Foods more than I do the FDA.

I basically agree with you. Organic food is a fraud of sorts. It's no better for you than non-organic. You can eat well with either or poorly with either.
I shop at Whole Foods occasionally. It's usually product specific. I'd estimate I shop there 10-15% of the time. But for most of the time their products are simply too expensive. I can buy just as good olive oil, pasta, or general items at the regular supermarkets.
As an interesting experiment, the next time you are in Whole Foods, look at the percentage of people who are carrying a hand basket vs a push cart. You will find that at Whole Foods a much higher percentage of people are carrying a hand basket. This tells me they are shopping for very specific items when they are in the store. They probably go over to the discount super market right after they leave Whole Foods. I know I do.
