I basically agree with you. Organic food is a fraud of sorts. It's no better for you than non-organic. You can eat well with either or poorly with either.
I shop at Whole Foods occasionally. It's usually product specific. I'd estimate I shop there 10-15% of the time. But for most of the time their products are simply too expensive. I can buy just as good olive oil, pasta, or general items at the regular supermarkets.
As an interesting experiment, the next time you are in Whole Foods, look at the percentage of people who are carrying a hand basket vs a push cart. You will find that at Whole Foods a much higher percentage of people are carrying a hand basket. This tells me they are shopping for very specific items when they are in the store. They probably go over to the discount super market right after they leave Whole Foods. I know I do.

I do too. I am especially with you on the olive oil and the pasta. Not to mention the paper towels, tooth paste, etc., and I prefer a bakery for my bread. I’m not impressed with their baked goods. But at my Whole Foods, I see more people with the basket doing a week’s worth. Can’t imagine what their grocery bill is like.
