I feel genuinely sorry for this guy.

He ended up representing a majority african-american district, but he’s fairly conservative. And a freshman member of the house.

No matter what he does, he’s screwed.

Let’s hope he’s not the deciding vote on the health care disaster.

I don’t feel sorry for him.

“Always do what is right. It will gratify half of mankind and astound the other.”

— Mark Twain

We do have the maxim “No good deed goes unpunished.” around our home, but it’s a joke. You are never “screwed” for doing the right thing.

He will almost certainly be a one-term congressman. His district elected him only because of the corruption of his predecessor. He is trying to do a dance here and be all things to all people. It’s not going to work.

Who cares? Any representative more concerned with his own re-election than doing what is right for the American people doesn’t deserve re-election.

I understand what you're saying, but no one forced this man to run for office, and the political leanings of his constituency were hardly a secret.

If he'll be screwed no matter what he does, he could at least make an effort to explain to his constituents why this bill is a bad idea, even for them.

Unless, of course, he doesn't think government takeover of healthcare and a large chunk of the economy is a bad idea.

The Democrats control the House 256-178 and one vacancy. Cao will not be the "deciding vote." The real issue is whether the Reps can remain united like they were on the stimulus bill. The Dems must own this monstrosity lock, stock, and barrel.

You feel sorry for him? Screw that. He’s a POS and needs to be defeated in the next election.
