I like this passage:

“In fact, “Southerners” are uniquely positioned to remake the Republican Party, because they are their country. The South was formed by extraordinary forces of mobility, migration and immigration.”

Voinovich should keep his stupid liberal trap shut.

>>...believe the Civil War was about declaring independence from Northern aggressors.<<

A) No one in the South says Civil War; and yes,
B) It IS a war for independence.

Do they REALLY want to open up this can of worms?

Is this the same Voinovich that never met a tax increase he disliked or a gun control bill he didn't support? At least De Mint and Coburn have read and understood the US constitution a task apparently beyond Voinovich's power.

Anybody who supported Dennis Kucinich in any election is not my idea of a good Republican.

So when Voinovich talks about unrepresentative “Southerners,” whom does he mean? The people of Clarkston, who have absorbed one of the nation’s largest refugee resettlements, where Congolese, French Africans, Eritreans, Sudanese, Ethiopians, Burmese, Bhutanese, Burundians, Iraqis, Somalis, Turks and Afghans have revitalized the region’s business and spiritual life?

This community is nestled just to the north of I285. There are missions there to help them adjust and to teach them English. This is not your Mama’s Atlanta anymore.

When the Atlanta Journal Constitution comes to the defense of our Southland, you know the world is turned upside down.

He is an idiot.

One of the best things that ever happened to me in my life was when I was 8 years old in 1945 and my parents moved us from Ohio to Florida.

This idiot doesn't understand that the fastest growing part of our country is in the south and west. Not so many years down the road Georgia and North Carolina will have more population than Ohio and I believe S. Carolina will someday pass them also.

Ohio is welcome to this guy.
