Where Is Romney On Health Care Issue
Self Post | 8/13/09 | Self

Has anybody heard anything from Romney on this hot health care issue. I seem to find him absent on this debate.

To put it another way, if Obama Care passes, do you really think Mitt, who just in the last 30 days has taken pride in similar plan (one he and his sycophants said “was destroyed to some extent by the Democrats 2 years ago”) is the man to undo the damage?

Well, it'll take a Republican Congress and president to undo the damage if much of Obamacare passes. It's going to take a significant change in Congress in 2010 to stop all these destructive Obama legislative initiatives.

If we can begin regaining Congress in 2010, and end any chance of Obama passing his more radical initiatives, then if we can elect a Republican president in 2012 the Congress would have no appetite to continue considering anything like Obamacare. Hopefully it can be defeated now, and made radioactive like Hillarycare in 1994.

Then, Republicans do need to pass some reforms that will aid the working poor who do not have coverage from their employers, and cannot afford hundreds of dollars per month to buy their own insurance. That is a real problem that has been around for years, and if that could be addressed it might end the possibility that wholesale government takeover could pass in the future.

But what happens in the future is an interplay of what happens to the makeup of Congress in 2010, what issues die now or persist until 2012, and who's running for president and what their positions are during the campaigns of 2011 and 2012. It'd be fine with me if Palin can establish herself as the strongest candidate and win the nomination, or Romney.

You do not support Palin, and you have never supported anyone but Mitt Romney.

Like a lot of Romneybots you will lie until the cows come home but your posting history tells the tale.

There is only one candidate that you have clearly and enthusiastically pushed since you have been here and that is Mitt Romney, never anyone else.

Clearly, the Romney haters have their work cut out for them as even more evidence surfaces that many people who consider themselves to be conservative prefer Romney in 2012.

I guess maybe these kids just somehow think they’re conservative, but really aren’t.

============================================================ >”Romney is the best viable candidate for conservatives. I believe he is a conservative, and that he always has been. I think we’re seeing the real Romney, and that the Massachusetts Romney hedged his conservative values to win elections in an ultra-liberal state. And maybe some positions have simply changed, as with Reagan and so many others.
I’ve always wanted Romney or Thompson. Now Romney is one of the few left with a chance to win. And he’d be one of the best candidates the GOP has ever had.
All you Romney haters aren’t impressing anyone, except perhaps each other.”

Here are quotes from you that indicate what your conclusion always is, it always comes to Romney.

“Romney has always been the best candidate.”

“All Fred supporters need to take a fresh look at Romney. He’s closer to Fred than any others by far.”

“Fred should have attacked McCain and Huckabee equally. He’s actually closer on the issues to Romney than any of the other candidates.”

“As much as some dislike Romney at FP, he is closest to Fred on the issues. He and Fred have been my co-favorites from the first, and now I hope the others falter and Romney can emerge to defeat McCain. I believe Romney would govern as a conservative. McCain would be a bigger disaster than Jorge has been on all too many issues.”

“I’ve always wanted Romney or Thompson. Now Romney is one of the few left with a chance to win. And he’d be one of the best candidates the GOP has ever had.”

“But I also believe Romney would be a fine president, and that he’d govern as conservatively as Reagan, and much better than the two Bushes.”

“I hope Romney will stay in the public eye and become the voice of conservatism until 2012, and maybe by then all the conservative purists and narrow minds will have learned Romney is a true conservative, and also our best candidate since RWR. Take a look at how he’s lived his life, and that will be a good place to start. Then listen to what he says about how he would govern as president.”

“And trying spin Reagan’s flip-flops on abortion sounds as silly as trying to spin John Kerry’s flip-flops on Iraq. “

Will, we are well past "what Mitt did or did not do" in the most liberal state in America, though if you choose to ignore any politicians total record I question your sincerity as a "seeker of truth".

Mitt has even as recently as the past 30 some odd days gone off the conservative reservation with the "re" endorsement of his health care plan, a plan that does the very opposite of the goals you yourself mention (no tort reform, effects all etc.).

You are trying too hard Will. if you are genuine slow down and smell the coffee.

However if you are just another in the long line of well practiced Mitt sycophants playing the very famous "who me?" game, enjoy the ride while it last because Mitt is not getting any better, and the more he talks the harder it is going to get to tow that company line with even a hint of legitimacy...

I have a VALID reason

Free speach does not mean you can post anything you wish.

When one makes claims like this, one better be able to back it up.

I shouldn’t have to be playing mother here. When something is reported as abuse, there’s usually a good reason for it. DO YOUR JOB.

GOP_Lady wasn’t banned, just got the weekend off. Sometimes it does one good to get away from the keyboard for a bit, go outside, smell the flowers, take a walk, get bitten by a moose...
