The kid did nothing wrong, and the two “women” should be charged with falsely reporting an incident.

I’m getting real fed up with this sort of BS behavior on the part of the cops.

If they keep this up they’re going to be confronting real militia.

Dang, they would be arresting half of Alaska if they applied that here. Shoot, pretty much every man & boy from age 10 & up at my Church would be thrown in the clink.

When the cops don’t like what you did, but there’s no law against it, they write down “Disorderly conduct.”
Obviously the corrupt administration told the cops to arrest innocent people with fake guns, or they would have had enough sense to ignore it.

I grew up in the Chicago area, and my grandparents lived in Des Plaines. Long story short, I would visit them on the weekends, and very nearby was a wooded area by the the Des Plaines River.

Not a Saturday or Sunday went by, without 30 kids running through the woods with our dads or grandparents army belts, helmets, fake guns, air rifles, whatever we could find.

It was all good fun, and almost all of us ended up serving our country at one time or another.

I miss those days, and I cannot explain to our kids how this country has gone awry, but that is just a prime example.

It would be unfathomable now for some folks to allow that sort of innocent horseplay to happen. Sad.

The Normal Rockwell America I once loved is albeit a fading memory.

I’ve just about lost all respect for police outside of small towns. They’ve become radicalized by design.

I notice the TV station didn’t bother to get a comment from the “scared women”. The kid probably should have known better than to carry the toy gun, but for the cops to charge him is idiotic.

Are they sure it wasn't the fashion police who nabbed him?

I guess they police ascertained that he wasn't fatigued but relatively well rested.

My gosh, this is in AZ too, who woulda thought? Should NOT have been charged with disorderly conduct if there was no real “conduct” involved.

Son, come on to Texas during hunting season (there’s several seasons too) and I’ll show you some fatigue wearing, weapons totin’ folks.

Should NOT have been charged, been there done that in my career, repeat: should NOT have been charged. Looked into? Sure, that’s your duty but your duty requires COMMON SENSE.

The police acted... stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that he was committing no crime.

Oh, right, explain it all away and call the kid naive, as if he did anything wrong. If he did not threaten these people, then I don’t think he did anything wrong and should have been let go with an apology. If someone is scared of you because of the way you look or dress, is that cause for a disorderly conduct charge? Now there may be some stupid law about firearm look-alikes somewhere around there, I don’t know.

The real problem with actions like this is it causes rational people to turn against the cops. The affect is worse when the other cops in the department defend the thugs and cover for them.

At some point the good cops have to stand up and help rid their departments of cops like this or accept the fact that they are just as bad as the scum that acts like this.

Of course, some departments are so far gone a good cop puts his life on the line if he speaks up.
