U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee said today she does not know the woman who falsely claimed to be a physician when she made a statement supporting the White House's health care overhaul at the congresswoman's town hall meeting Tuesday.
The woman, a University of Houston student named Roxana Mayer, is not a licensed physician, although she called herself one at the meeting and was incorrectly identified as such in Wednesday's editions of the Chronicle.
In an e-mail to the Chronicle today, Mayer said she'd been advised not to talk further about the matter, but did not say who counseled her.
Mayer was an organizer and delegate for the Barack Obama campaign last year.

Why would anyone believe anything she says now?
More lies from the Death Cult.
And if SJ-L didn't know full well that Mayer was misrepresenting herself given that she was a UH Obama delegate and one of her husband's highest profile students, she's a brain-dead, drooling-at-the-mouth incompetent who isn't sentient enough to effectively represent the interests of her constituency.
In fact, if she's not just a liar who knowingly abetted in the perpetration of a criminal fraud against her own constituents, she should be deemed so mentally incapacitated that she's earned a place at the head of the line for deportation to one of Obama's death facilitation camps should this ridiculous government health care bill actually pass.
Cuz if anybody has outlived their usefulness to society, it is the Honorable Madame Jackson-Lee.
I'm thinking there's just gotta be a pic of the two of the together in the Chron's photo archive.
ping, looks familiar
And, I'd bet that there's pictures of her with this woman, as it's VERY common for the Senators and congressman to take pictures with convention delegates from their own states and especially their home districts.
“She’s a doctor the same way Al Sharpton is reverend”
You owe me a Diet Coke. Went spurting right out of my nose. ROTFLMAO
YIKES, that's spooky. ;-)
Nice find!
Ping.
This is good.
Let’s befriend her on Facebook and Twitter and just flood her with medical questions.
Note the woman at the desk. Note the picture on the woman's desk.
And this:
And this:
How could you forget a face (and glasses) like that?
You wrote about the picture of SJL and the funny caption as,
“Is that supposed to be funny? Its not.”
I think it is very funny....we are talking here about the hair on top of her head, are we not?
“I need an appointment! It’s way too bushy! I just need it waxed like last time! And I don’t want you using a weedeater again! What do you mean there is an extra charge because nobody wants to get close to it? I washed it in January! Do you know who I am? Do you! ??
That is funny. I wish I knew where a repository of these pictures from the DNC convention were located. I imagine many of them (unfortunately) are located in the offices of Ms. Jackson Lee. But, some of them may very well be in the archives of the Houston Chronicle photographers that actually covered the event. It wouldn't at all be uncommon for a newspaper to publish a picture of their home reps standing beside the hometown convention delegates.
