I dont know how much that hip replacement cost, Obama said in the interview. I would have paid out of pocket for that hip replacement just because shes my grandmother.
Obama said you just get into some very difficult moral issues when considering whether to give my grandmother, or everybody elses aging grandparents or parents, a hip replacement when theyre terminally ill.
Thats where I think you just get into some very difficult moral issues, he said in the April 14 interview. The chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives are accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total health- care bill out here.

If this monstrosity passes, aging baby boomers will become an endangered species. In danger of termination.
Better stay healthy, or else...
Oh great, just snuff out the chronically ill and elderly and, what, my health insurance goes down 80%? (/S)
What the heck is the definition of “terminal”? Terminal illnesses can go on for years. ALS is a terminal illness and can take more than ten years to run its course before the onset of death.
Should someone with two months left to live be given a hpi replacement... uh... probably not... and it wouldn’t even be considered for someone in a delicate state because they probaby wouldn’t survive the surgery.
These people are either evil or stupid (or a combination of both).
A government worker assists a disabled senior citizen to the crushing machine under President Obama's re-designed "Cash for Clunkers" program.
It’s not.
But when patients have Medicare, the hospitals actually have a paying customer who can pay for all of the free care they are required to provide to others.
The chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives ...”
Diabetes, arthritis, shingles, cardiac and pulmonary problems are chronic illnesses.
Obama has taken an enormous leap from terminal to chronic.
This is monstrous.
According to HHS-
“ Almost 75 percent of the elderly (age 65 and over) have at least one chronic illness.”

Senior citizens who take cardiac medications or have high blood pressure
and those who have stiff knees and hands best be paying attention.
Obama must really believe that he is a deity who can determine
when one “ is at the end of their lives.”
Euthanasia is not a term that should be thrown around loosely, but,
it’s hard not to see euthanasia and population reorder as being a driving factor in the way Barry views older Americans.
In fact, all Americans.
Last fall I went to visit an elderly (84 y.o) member of my aparish, who had just had a knee replacement, at a hospital here in Tampa. I got into an interesting discussion with one of the nurses on the orthopedics ward. She said there were 75 beds on the ward, with 100% occupancy, (and a waiting list)..and that 95% of them were for hip and or kneee replacements...and that the AVERAGE age of the patients was 78..
I think you meant to say, "Liberals have no morals." ?
How do you define chronically ill?
I guarantee that if it is defined as someone with heart disease, diabetes, and such things, that they “potentially account” for 80% of the total health care bill.
All that Dear Leader has to do is to have the death boards define such disease as not worth paying for, and he can drastically drop health care costs.
Dear Leader is serious about things he says in unguarded moments. You must believe them.
Hitler told people everything he believed in Mein Kampf (sp?) ... They elected him anyway because they just didn’t believe he could be serious.
>> I had no idea years ago when watching the Dinosaurs tv show episode on the tradition of Hurling Day, that it would be a foreshadowing of future government healthcare. <<
Yeah one of the good things that came from Spielberg before he contacted a severe case of Liberalism.
You know some people on this board will think what I am about to say is crazy and would think it is a bad thing. But I think we should let the private medical industry pursue functional immortality.
I wouldn’t mind having a couple hundred thousand of the folks from the Depression Era around to inject some real common sense. Let the libs kill of their old people, I say we find out a way to make our old people immortal.
Not for Profit Hospitals are going bankrupt providing care to the indigent. Something needs to be done about that. I wonder how many indigent patients are seen at Mayo’s.
This guy is completely below water. We’ve elected a man who couldn’t get a job at a department head’s level at most companies. He’s a likeable guy, but there is also something very sinister about him. Kind of like I feel listening to Russian leaders. The end justifies the means. In other words, say and do anything it takes to get your programs and laws passed. Lying or misleading is part of that process. I think this is the cornerstone of Saul Alinsky.
My mother had a hip replacement when she was dying of cancer (it took six years for her to die) and having the hip replacement helped her to be able to move around for a long time afterwards.
When Kathy Sebelius said “...we shouldn’t sweat the details...”, she could not have been more wrong.
In this bill, it is the details that will torture us.
And a detail like “The Definition of ‘Terminal’: ????” leaves a moral hole big enough to drive a Mack Truck through.
The fact that the people who are crafting this legislation, beginning with the person who is pushing it the hardest, have no problem with the concept of aborting a 8 3/4 month baby, then leaving it gasping out its short life on a steel table in a linen closet without even a comforting hand to let it know that its short spark of life touched someone.
I am not making it into an abortion issue. But the point remains that when we surrender our choices to legislation created by those people, we all can be that doomed child.
