Johnny's full of crap and is now doing the backstroke:

Sarah Palin had written on her Facebook page that the House healthcare legislation would lead to government "death panels" deciding which members of society were productive enough to receive healthcare.

UPDATE: Isakson's office has clarified that the Georgia Republican absolutely opposes the House bill, including the "end of life language."

Isakson has offered his own amendment to the Senate HELP Committee bill that would provide for end of life planning, but he argues the House version "incentivises" end of life counseling and provides a government-mandated list of topics.

The House provision is merely another ill-advised attempt at more government mandates, more government intrusion, and more government involvement in what should be an individual choice.

Nevertheless, Isakson has not backed away from his comments that the "death panel" interpretation of the bill is "nuts."

But of course he can't admit it.

What do you expect from a pro-illegal alien RINO like Issakson...

Seems like Sarah Palin read the legislation, Goober Isakson did not.

Why would the creation of a “board of review” for who has the right to live, and who must take the checkout lane, such a stretch?

We are coming into a time of artificial scarcities, made the more so by those who cannot understand the concept of a growing pie to be divided up. For them, this is a “zero-sum” game, with only limited resources, and by golly if they have to be the ones who limit the resources for everybody else, so be it.

I wonder what consideration babies with birth defects (or DS) will receive under the inevitable single payer Obamacare system?

I wonder what "nascent-life" counseling expectant mothers with such babies will receive.

Eugenics can't be far off.

Don't blame me, I voted for Herman Cain.

Hopefully he'll run again.

I've not read where ex-Gov. Palin describes any part of Obama care as "death panels" so I do not know what she means but IMO..

There's scant mention of Section 1233 vis-a-vis palliative care. I have no idea why it's apparently being overlooked even in FR. Google news got 29 hits on, section 1233 palliative. There was a tiny number of hits in the state controlled media (SCaM).

"Under the proposal, all senior citizens receiving government medical care would be required to undergo these counseling sessions every five years. Further reading of the law reveals that these sessions are nothing more than a not-so-veiled attempt to convince the elderly to forego treatment. HR 3200 calls outright for these compulsory consultations to recommend "palliative care and hospice." These are typically administered in the place of treatment intended to prolong life, and instead focus on pain relief until death. These are, of course, reasonable and beneficial options for terminally ill patients and their families."

But for those who are not terminally ill.. maybe "just" seriously ill is this Democrat Richard Lamm's "seriously ill old people have a duty to die and get out of the way?"

With rationing, and encouragement to forego curative treatment, this is euthanasia lite. IMO.

Georgians should throw his ass out in a primary. Government has no damn place in “end of life decisions”. Period.
