The dismissal of New Mexico U.S. Attorney David C. Iglesias in December 2006 followed extensive communication among lawyers and political aides in the White House who hashed over complaints about his work on public corruption cases against Democrats, according to newly released e-mails and transcripts of closed-door House testimony by former Bush counsel Harriet Miers and political chief Karl Rove.
House Judiciary Chairman John M. Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.) Tuesday characterized the role of Bush White House figures in the firing episode as improper and inappropriate.
"Under the Bush regime, honest and well-performing US Attorneys were fired for petty patronage, political horse trading and, in the most egregious case of political abuse of the US Attorney corps -- that of US Attorney Iglesias -- because he refused to use his office to help Republicans win elections," Conyers said. "When Mr. Iglesias said his firing was a 'political fragging,' he was right."

quite unlike inspector general Walprin who was fired for being senile according to the Obamites.
So the democrats have decided a case against a U.S attorney who wouldn’t investigate voter fraud was inapproprite. New Mexico must have a lot of illegals and dead people voting.
So, he looked the other way at dem corruption, but went after anyone else? Sounds like it to me.

only a ‘progressive’
You don’t know the half of it when it comes to corrupt politics in New Mexico. My mother, I life-long Southern Democrat who moved here (NM) last year, said she wouldn’t have anything to do with the NM Dems. Her car insurance agent was running for office and they were discussing voter ID. He was adamently against it. She said voting is a priviledge and he disagreed and said that EVERYONE should be allowed to vote. She said she felt the implication was that legal or illegal, he felt they should be able to vote.
I don’t know about some of these former U.S. Attorneys, but I have proof John McKay, the former U.S. Attorney for Western Washington was covering up corruption by the former Gov. Locke, current Governor Locke and some members of the WA Supreme Court. The current and the nominated U.S. Attorneys for Western Washington also have that proof.
How can this possibly be an issue when Klinton fired ALL the US attorneys ?
