I guess Nancy Pelosi has never seen suburbia before.

I'm sure she avoids them like HIV!

I’m surprised Obama can get the unions to show up at all. There were photos of a handful with matching t-shirts on the Maryland threads. I guess Rush is right when he calls them rent-a-mob since the Community Organizer is running ads on Craigslist via USPirg.

Very remarkable mob.

They must be doing all the hanging, outside the view of the camera. Scary and very dangerous looking crowd, that’s for sure.

No way of knowing whether these people are mostly for or against Obamacare, though...

I'm not sure $600 is enough money to get yourself torn to shreds by elderly, insurance company paid, Nazi, domestic “Tim Mc Vehy” type home grown terrorists like those people in line...

The cartoon I posted of the crowd turned into raging Saxons got pulled. I guess they're are rules regarding cartoons now. Once inside that's what those nice, calm middle class taxpayers turn into when confronted with an obfuscating congressman!

It is kind of insulting to conservatives. But... that is how the intellectual liberal class sees us. Anyone have a bozo the clown cartoon?

No way of knowing whether these people are mostly for or against Obamacare, though...

Exactly. I was there . . . at least in line . . . and this district is incredibly liberal. I suspect the liberals in line were in a majority. Following is a report I posted last night in the thread announcing the meeting:

First hand report . . . kinda . . . LOL.

I arrived on the campus and parked. I walked a few hundred yards and found the end of the line, waiting to get into the auditorium. I arrived at the end of the line at 6:30pm. It was at a dead stop.

I can honestly say, that it was 4 across and stretched under canopied walkways meandering through campus. The length was several hundred YARDS long. The attendance was incredible.

I estimate the racial makeup of the crowd to be less than 10% African-American and 90%+ white. This surprised me, since Dekalb County has a majority black population, and since Hank Johnson is black.

Unfortunately, Decatur, GA is in this district (where I unfortunately live) and is the most liberal city in the state.

I overheard someone behind me say that they were crowd-watching and were trying to figure out which side each person was on, by basis of their appearance. I confess, I was doing the exact same thing, and I can say, it was impossible to tell.

Very few people had signs visible. More than half of the signs I saw had "I support the Public Option" and "Healthcare is a Right." Judging by the conversations I overheard, I suspect conservatives were well represented, but in a minority. But I have such a small field of data (eavesdropping), that I could be off base.

The line moved slowly. The crowd was VERY WELL BEHAVED. I didn't hear a single raised voice. Yet there were quiet discussions all around me. I heard passionate voices, but no raised voices.

We passed a parking lot on our way to the auditorium that had signs on wooden stands, reading "Free Speech Zone." But these lots were completely empty of any picketers or protesters.

Around 7:15 pm (15 minutes after the scheduled start time), the word trickled through the line that the auditorium was filled, but they were routing us to another overflow facility. The bad news was accepted well, and we remarked how wonderful that so many people cared to attend the event.

We moved slowly like cattle through a chute for the next 35 minutes, passing the auditorium entrance, and continuing our meandering path through the campus to whereabouts unknown. At 7:40pm, they announced that the overflow facility was now full. Again, the news was accepted graciously. People stood in small groups and most decided to depart campus. I also took that option, since I had not yet had dinner. LOL.

I CONSERVATIVELY estimate that over 2,000 people were there.

If you were there, and especially if you were able to get into the auditorium, PLEASE POST A REPORT. I'd love to hear any other perspectives.

A rumor in the crowd was that the event would be broadcast Thursday evening. If anyone has any information as to the time and channel, please post it.

Wish I could have provided eye-witness testimony. I had my cell with video recording ready to go. LOL.

God Bless all of you,

AUTiger83

Again, did anyone get inside? I'd love to hear a report of what was actually said INSIDE the meeting!

Wow. Any report on how the townhall went?

If this crowd showed up with tar and feathers I bet the congress person would be very humble.

I was there, but didn’t get into the auditorium. I was part of the overflow crowd that got into the gym.

Yes, the crowd was huge, about 2,000. This district is one of the most liberal in GA, but I’d guess at least half of the crowd was conservative.

Johnson did plan for a large crowd. The auditorium seats 500 and 1,000 seats were set up in the gym. Still about 500 people couldn’t get in. (My rep, John Lewis is only having telephone talks, so this was my only chance to go to a town hall meeting.)

But I stayed only for about a half hour. Johnson is very low-key. His monotone voice was making me sleepy. Then he had people speak about their health problems. I could tell the opposition wouldn’t have a chance to speak.

"and are distracting from the debate."

This is what makes me so angry. The media has everyone convinced there is a "Debate", when in fact that is the farthest thing from the truth. The "debate" consists of us opening wide and having this abomination shoved down our throats.

The RINO "debate" consists of "Let's boil the frog on Medium instead of on High but we'll still use the government to do it. Most of us "Urban Terrorists" want the government the hell out of the way.

He said he wants us to “get out of the way” so he can force his way, which he has done from the start with all of his policies.

That isn’t debate and Americans are fed up.
