EBH, your words are prescient and downright scary. I’m reminded of a quote from “The Count of Monte Cristo” where the Napoleonist father of a Magistrate says, “When it comes down to it, treason is really just a matter of dates.” I’m paraphrasing, but the point here is that the activities of the left could be and should be construed as treasonous. However, since they have a sympathetic government, everything fits.

Now, those conservatives among us are feeling subjugated for clinging bitterly to our guns and our Bibles, but guess what? You’ll have to pry BOTH of them from my dead fingers, because you’re right, EBH, freedom truly is just another word for nothing left to lose.

I’m scared for my family and my country, but I’m prepared to die to defend both. If that makes me an extremist, then feel free to report me. When the Gestapo knocks on my door, I’ll make sure my wife submits my obituary to FR.

What gets me is that the left was actively working to undermine a WAR EFFORT against an ENEMY THAT ATTACKED US on our own soil. (No, Saddam himself did not attack us, Islamic terrorists did, and he supported them.) But, many on the left were against the Afghan war effort as well.

Here we are, in 2009, opposing

A DOMESTIC SOCIAL PROGRAM - read that again - A DOMESTIC SOCIAL PROGRAM

and we’re equated with the treasonous behavior of the left after 9/11.
