At least 41 people have been killed and nearly 150 wounded in three attacks near the northern Iraqi city of Mosul and in Baghdad, police say.
Two booby-trapped trucks exploded about 4:00am (local time) in the village of Khaznah, 20 kilometres east of Mosul, leaving 25 people dead and 70 others wounded.
Thirty-five houses were destroyed in the village, which is the home of members of the tiny Shabak community, a sect of Kurdish origin.
In Baghdad, two car bombs went off as day labourers were gathering in the early morning hours looking for jobs.
The first bomb exploded at Hay al-Amel, in the west of the capital, killing nine and injuring 46.
The second bomb at Shurta Arbaa in the north killed seven people and wounded 35 others.
More to come.
IMO, the whole damn country is in a QUIGMIRE of OBAMA'S making! I would like for the media elites to name just one thing that Obama has done right so far, just one!
Obama is worse than Jimmy Carter. At least, Jimmy Carter had experience at doing something. Obama can't even organize his minions any longer.
Obama makes Carter look like a right winger!
Awful. I don’t think the Iraqis are ready to to do without us yet. They still need more support with their internal security. Oh, and BTW, if Pres. Bush were still Pres, we’d be hearing daily about what a failure Iraq is. Where’s the news now?
Isn’t this the second time in about a week that a major attack like this has happened? When we leave it will get worse and eventually another madman like Saddam will take control, as those are the only type of person that will be able to keep “peace” there.
Yes, I think you are right, this is the second time in a week. I would not be surprised to find myself posting another such story tomorrow, as well.
bad news....sorry to hear this
I hope not, but I’ll be here. :)
Good night.
‘tiz a sign of what is to come with Obama at the helm. The savages know that as soon as he pulls the troops out that they may revert back to lawlessness.
Obama time in Iraq.
Too busy trying to attack our own people at home to take care of our national security.
Prayers for the Iraqi people (they want peace), for the Iraqi military, and for our incredibly brave troops who continue to place themselves in harm’s way to keep us safe and free.

Amen.
Zero will say our job is done and we will leave now.
How's your brave one doing??
So far so good....
Prayers will continue until he is safely home!
Obama’s War
bet the Iraqi people are happy to have us out from meddling in their affairs eh?
Cut and run .. way to go Obama, screw everyone right?
This is terrible, and i wish we wouldnt let our politics divide us like when we are fighting a war against a very real enemy.
You cannot determine the actual situation in Iraq based on random homicide bombings. Heck, the Israelis cannot even stop them and they have a devoted and capable police force and army.
Fact is, the Islamo Murderers have trained thousands of these people to kill themselves in the name of destroying “The Great Satan”, money for their families and let’s not forget the 72 virgins.
When the next bomb goes off here are you gonna be running around yelling we’re losing the WOT? Try to keep some perspective. For every bomb that goes oof in the usual places in Iraq, there are thousands of villages and towns where people are quietly going about the business of their lives.
Get a grip.
