Sorry, my bad.
Sounds peremptory to me.
In case anyone is in doubt as to the meaning of this phrase--it is an Orwellian bureaucratic device to refer to orders ending life, not sustaining it. Things like "no heroic measures," "palliative (comfort) care only" and the alltime fave, "Do Not Resuscitate."
As God is my witness; when Obama-Care leaves me for dead I swear I will take as many of these bastards with me as I can! I mean, what the hell are they going to do about it kill me?

How convenient for commiebama...their “cutoff” age is 65, and my eligibility for social security is 66. Why did I pay in all that money all these years?
Is this the original HR3200 or the NEWER One approved by some blue dogs, that Waxman said he wasn’t going to release until after August recess?
Anyway, it makes me think they will change sections and page numbers to throw everyone off, when new bill is released for a vote. It will be to confuse Seniors/Readers to think some things were changed or removed, when in fact, they will just be moved to another place in the monstrosity bill.
We will need to really work fast to find the new places to where their devious minds have put the end-of-life clauses, and watch to see if they change TERMINOLOGY on us.
This is what many of us warned would happen when the government murdered Teri Schiavo. It didn’t take long did it? The government best keep it’s hand off my loved ones I will make that solemn promise on this matter. Any involuntary means to try and end a loved one of mines life will be met with resistance in kind at the ones trying to carry it out.
Fred Thompson has pointed out that the word “may,” which would identify the sessions as voluntary, does not appear in the section.
Well, first of all, they’re NOT voluntary, so if anybody says that they are, you can consider it “fishy” information that you are obligated to report to flag@whitehous.gov. :-)
Second of all, while the text sounds innocuous enough, if there is not enough money to sustain the Obamacare regime, then there will inevitably be pressure to downgrade the life-sustaining orders to ones that involve inexpensive treatments that, presumably, aren’t as likely to extend life.
Read the text, and then, if you haven’t been put to sleep, make up your minds. :-)
Well what I want to know today is why isn’t Ted Kennedy or one of the kiddos personally requesting Eunice Shriver be given the needle immediately. It would be so symbolic. Show you can walk the walk f’ers. Put the old lady down. What? Not until the last medical option is exhausted? Wait, what?
This ought to be front center on any debate.
I’ve noticed a change in the last few days where some of those who say that the bill doesn’t have mandatory requirements where they are now saying that the final bill hasn’t even been written now so these things should not be discussed at all — not until such time as a bill is passed should this be brought back to the table.
In the meantime, we need to get back to business as usual and let the good old boys enjoy their vacation.
Both links have gone dead.
great stuff there, thank you
My God. Since when does anyone other than myself and my doctor have a say in any medical decision? (I know some say insurance companies do, not part of this discussion)
I am 55 now. WHen the day comes that someone says I shall have one of these consultations, I will tell them they can go straight to hell.
Let them deny medical coverage because of my refusal to be a part of this, let them impose fines or whatever the hell else they will try to do—the squeaky wheels will get the grease.
Rahm’s brother has never practiced a day in his life. An oncologist by training. But he must not have been able to make it as a doer so he became a thinker and he thinks the rest of the world gives a damn. He is an ethicist. A philosopher. He has no clue what real life is like when people are fighting for their lives. People like him are dangerous.
