It does if you're going 10-15 mph blocking traffic.
I presume your repeated use of the word, "toy" is for effect, or perhaps you're simply trying to be inflammatory. Either way, my bicycles are vehicles, not toys. Your wrong-headed opinion changes that not one iota.
A skateboard and a sled are vehicles too. That doesn't mean they aren't toys as well. We don't allow people to obstruct traffic with those vehicles. we shouldn't allow it with your toys either.
There are two women who even pull little trailers with small kids in them as they play with their bikes on Park Blvd. I pointed it out to a cop once and asked why he didn't stop them and have CPS take those kids. He said he didn't like it either but they were within the law.
I'll bet you think you're a liberty loving conservative too. Sad, but funny.
I'm sure you will blame the auto driver when one or both these women and those kids get hit while playing in traffic on one of the buisiest roads in the area.
It's bad enough when adults put themselves at risk playing in traffic. It should be criminal to put a child at risk that way. What these women are doing is as dangerous as leaving a small child alone in a swimming pool.
I'm sure you see nothing wrong with that either. Your attitude is why so many kids are killed on bicycles and in swimming pools every year.
Toys have their place. The streets aren't that place.
For the record, I'm against bicycling in swimming pools. Drowning is a horrible way to die.
I gather you aren’t opposed to kids playing in traffic or irresponsible adults putting them in very dangerous situations.

You're right, a big bunch of wussies.Doesn't compare at all to having to play for 30 seconds with a 3 minute break in between while wearing a ton of protective gear.
I agree, I haven’t been surrounded, flipped-off, and threatened by the average gaggle of bike-riders that I see.
The liberal cyclists believe they’re saving the earth, and therefore feel they deserve special privileges. That includes the right to run stop signs and red lights, thread through lines of traffic, and generally mess with anyone they feel is not living up to their standards for environmental responsibility.
There are already enough laws to deal with this sort of activity. The problem is, for whatever reason, the laws are not being enforced.
Agree - I learned that from this thread already. Regrettable, but true, that these laws aren’t enforced.
Do they have bike races in the snow and ice? Are they deliberately running into each other at every opportunity? No of course not, they are on their own little padded bike seat, hoping others are courteous enough not to bump into them while they pedal, pedal, pedal.
Now the things that are similar, is both sports feature men wearing helmets and some sort of spandex, which I can throughly enjoy watching.
Yes.
Here is Andy Hampsten on his way to Giro d' Italia victory at the Gavia Pass:
The bumping and leaning at 40mph is saved for the sprints.
They had several days in the rain during the Tour de France this year, including mountain stages. It isn’t snow and ice, but then football doesn’t include descents on slick roads either. And those descents could come after 4 hours in the saddle capped off with a climb of over 6 miles at almost 8% grades.
Football players may have some athletic advantages over pro cyclists, but when it comes to the ability to suffer (what I think the original poster’s point was) they cannot compare.
The second-to-last poster on this particular thread is correct.
Much less driving so close to the car next to you that you can push it while it takes a “nature break”. :-)
