I agree with you. Spooks can acquire stuff no one else could even think of getting. Then maybe they might give said documents to say the head of a country who doesn’t like a treaty that their country has with the US, and that country will publicly announce that said treaty is invalid because the US president is a fraud, and drop the documents on the world. That’s just one of many possible scenarios.

Maybe it will ultimately work in our favor that Obama and his goon squad are now pissing in the CIA’s cheerios. Maybe the CIA can help save the Republic. I pray it is so.

An inquiry also would probably drive a new wedge between the CIA and the Justice Department, agencies with a fractious history that have struggled to work more closely together since the Sept. 11 attacks.

They might as well divide everything they can divide, since they are effectively dividing this whole country in two.

Note that they are going after the lower-level people who might have overstepped the boundaries outlined in the Bush antiterror memos. Individual spooks are postponing retirement so they can better fight any charges against them. The are going after individuals. Lower morale, terrorize the brave agents, discourage people from wanting to join the clandestine services, make it all seem tawdry. They can't go after Bush directly now that so much has been written about the truth at Guantanamo.
