I think what is more likely than forced abortions is brain washing the doctors in to thinking that is the only thing they should be advising their patient to do. Many things that I have found doctors advise is the best and kindest thing to do are often the most cost effective to the medical profession. Therefore if you had system similar to ours your doctors will be taught things like this with the real reason to save money and resources but sold to them and they sell it to us as kindest and moral thing to do.

Often people then that would not normally consider this option whether it be not to push for a procedure to be done or like the case you sight have an abortion will feel almost obligated to go this route because a doctor advises it is in the patients best interest to do.

I predict that this is EXACTLY what will happen. There will end up being NO public option. And this is not a good thing I assert.

Daschle advised against the public option for now. He recommended that it be contingent upon "insurance reform." The Dems can get the equivalent of the public option by just regulating the insurance companies even more, essentially making them meet what amounts to what would be in the public option, which would cause many insurance companies to go out of business and those remaining will be under the thumb of the government, i.e., Fannie Med

Obama can claim victory and continue working on real Obamacare. The MSM will hail him as "The Great Compromiser."

Your fundamental error here Timeout is perspective. You look at the world and say "this is how I think therefore everyone thinks this way" Thus you look at this an assume that because favor calm reasoned rational discourse, it will appeal to everyone. NO, it does not. McCain's defeat should prove that too you.

Passion attracts attention of the uninvolved and the uninformed. Once you got their attention, then they start listening to your message. Obama won on that.

He grabbed their attention with passion and glitz and glamor then he sold them a fraudulent message about how he was not a rabid Lefty but just a normal guy like them. How he was going to protect them from all the trouble those boning old white guys, McCain and Bush were doing to them.

McCain responded with your notions about calm reasoned debate and steering away from any sort of combativeness or passion. He got his butt handed him for it.

Your theory is a prove failure. It doesn't work in this media age.

Thanks for the links. I have copied the ‘talking points’ on the Health Care Bill.

The Obama Organizing website is just one more example of how he attempts to be all things to all people.

Beside his personal logo at the heading is a quote from him: “I am asking you to believe...”

IOW, just go along with me, don’t pay any attention to pesky details.

“Believe” is a very strong focus-group tested word.

I think the value of the tea parties and town halls is that a lot of formerly non-political people are finally realizing that this is 'war,' and they have to get on the battlefield.

I agree. One of the problems we on the right have is that there is no organized leadership. The leadership is bubbling up from the grassroot efforts of the people. This is good, but we still need a bit of leadership to focus and concentrate our efforts effectively. Sen. DeMint has provided a bit of focus by being overtly critical of obama's plan, but it's still pretty mild. Also, the dem and media machine is trying to intimidate the Republicans into not organizing a push back by claiming that all these town hall clashes are an organized mob activity. Huh? They are TOTALLY organized, but we should not be? The Repbub's need to ignore their premise that organized efforts are a bad thing and get moving.

It seems we on the right need to take this bill and start explaining it to the country. This bill is so massive and difficult to understand. The repuub's need to start boiling it down into a few talking points to counter the dem's talking points. First and foremost is to to simply show how this will destroy private health care. A simple chart explaining how current private insurnace cannot have any new enrollees (causing it to become obsolete), while any new private health insurance must meet the gov'ts new "standard" requrments (causing it to become unaffordable) could show how the gov't is determined to destroy private health care insurance programs.

This is a PRIMARY concern for many Americans with this bill.

Unless they can keep buying votes in each and every election their only hope is turning illegals into legal voters.

Sorry to disagree with you, but the Dems don't need amnesty or illegals to build up their base. 87% of the 1.2 million LEGAL IMMIGRANTS who enter annually are minorities. Immigrants and minorities vote mostly Dem. We will be adding 135 million people in the next 40 years with about 75% coming from immigration. By 2050 one in 5 will be foreign born. By 2023, half of the children 18 and under will be minorities, and by 2042 half of the country will be minorities.

I’m tired of talking to you. If you review our conversation I’ve stuck to theory and persuasion without characterizing you as naive, inane, or unintelligent.

The funny thing is, in your last post you said “Once you got their attention, then they start listening to your message.”.

In essence, that’s what I’ve been saying all day.

Bye.

Big business is part of the problem. They are supporting Obamacare so they can get out of the healthcare business, i.e., health insurance linked to employment. They are supporting amnesty, guest worker programs, and open borders so they can continue to tap into an inexhaustible supply of cheap, exploitable labor that depresses wages and costs Americans jobs. And others are moving their operations abroad. And they are donating large amounts of money to the Dems.

The Republicans need to go after blue collar workers and stop this one way romance with big business. The corporate elites could care less about this country. They have no allegiances except to the bottom line.

You and I are totally on the same page. See my post here
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2311831/posts?page=179#179

I’ll reiterate:
WE NEED MESSAGE DISCIPLINE.

We should have ONE OBJECTIVE right now:
bring more people over to our side on health care.

Who is most persuadable?
-—People who have insurance-—and fear losing it.
-—Seniors.
-—And the millions who worry about the massive deficits (and growth of gov’t).

It was even worse than that they tried to sell us that you only use title once in any given article so you might get a President Bush or more likely Mr Bush as the start and then afterwards just Bush. I cannot imagine Obama they would be afraid of being accused of treating a minority disrespectfully.

I just saw a powerful ad using the very suggestions you have been making. Of course, it was on Fox, but perhaps it will be shown on the other ‘news’ channels.

It can be seen at the sponsoring website: http://www.60plus.org/

The 60 Plus Association is a non-partisan seniors advocacy group with a free enterprise, less government, less taxes approach to seniors issues. 60 Plus has set ending the federal estate tax and saving Social Security for the young as its top priorities. 60 Plus is often viewed as the conservative alternative to the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP).

Boy, you’ve got me pegged!

I saw that ad for the first time Friday night. I came up out of my seat when I saw it. Went immediately to their website and donated so they can keep running it.

Luv it.
