Reid plans town hall meeting over telephone

A day after holding up a square of Astroturf to denounce the orchestrated attacks on Democratic town hall meetings on health care, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's office said he would be talking with his Nevada constituents this month over the phone lines.

Reid’s office is scheduling a telephone town hall meeting for August, opting to avoid the shouting matches and microphone speeches that have erupted at events across the country. The senator expects to reach thousands of Nevadans, including those in the state’s rural expanse.

“It’s a forum that obviously lets us reach more people, but also provides a more respectful environment that allows all sides to be heard,” said Reid spokesman Jon Summers.

“It’s more the dialogue that town halls were meant to be, as opposed to the organized disruption we’re seeing in other town halls,” Summers said. “This is so Nevadans who want to be heard can voice their concern, support and their opinions.”

Details of the event will be announced in coming weeks.

Put this graphic on an empty chair and debate Reid at your own townhall meeting.

[[This is the perfect setup for Republicans to pounce.]]

UNFORTUNATELY they aren’t pouincing, and it doesn’t look like they will- EVERY GOP member should be makign it clear that the far left is hiding under their desks because we the people DO NOT WANT their lousy country destroying healthcare system, and every GOP member shoudl be airign the FACT that the left is goign to destroy medicare for the elderly who have paid into the system ALL their lives, only to have their healthcare safety net STOLEN from them by unscroupulous democrats greedy for power and money!

WHERE ARE THE GOP Who shouyld be on the air exposing hte hypocrisy and vile tactics of the lefT? Even Fox news is softpeddling this whole issue for crying out loud! IF somehting isn’t done now, done cisistently, and during the WHOLE break, the people will lose interes, and htis issue too will fizzle out- just like Obama is countign on!

>"This is the perfect setup for Republicans to pounce. Will they do it or lay back and miss yet another golden opportunity?"

As long as we are infected with RINO's like lay down, roll over, reach across/around, McLame, what does it matter?

If by some weird chance there were actual ELECTIONS in this country, and McL actually "won", you can rest assured he would be doing EXACTLY the same as the Bummer is now.

We need a new party not beholden to the Brown Shirt Media. Or at least an actual leader, not a puppet of said propagandists.

I've been here since 2004 and have never posted a story or vanity. This isn't an original idea. It has been floated over the years. The first time I heard of it someone was proposing it for a state legislature. (Einstein said: “Ideas are in the air.”) I'm contacting my congresswoman, Marsha Blackburn. But feel free to disseminate this idea any way you can. I e-mailed Glenn Beck earlier this morning: me@glennbeck.com. If Glenn gets enough e-mails he may notice and take this up.
