I disagree wholeheartedly:

Ben if staunchly pro-life (loudly anti-abortion).

And the GOP’s country club wing HATES that sort of moral conviction.

Just because someone is staunchly anti-abortion, it doesn’t mean he’s not a liberal and wouldn’t betray the core principles of conservatism. If Ben Stein gave money and support to Al Franken, as some here say he did, then HE’S A FAUX CONSERVATIVE, FAUX REPUBLICAN. His stance on abortion becomes irrelevant.
