An ad campaign featured on a U.S. Army website seeking those who would be interested in being an "Internment/Resettlement" specialist is raising alarms across the country, generating concerns that there is some truth in those theories about domestic detention camps, a roundup of dissidents and a crackdown on "threatening" conservatives.
The ads, at the GoArmy.com website as well as others including Monster.com, cite the need for:
"Internment/Resettlement (I/R) Specialists in the Army are primarily responsible for day-to-day operations in a military confinement/correctional facility or detention/internment facility. I/R Specialists provide rehabilitative, health, welfare, and security to U.S. military prisoners within a confinement or correctional facility; conduct inspections; prepare written reports; and coordinate activities of prisoners/internees and staff personnel. The campaign follows by only weeks a report from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security warning about "right-wing extremists" who could pose a danger to the country including those who support third-party political candidates, oppose abortion and would prefer to have the U.S. immigration laws already on the books enforced.

Or did we just have policies that promoted freedom and capitalism and got the hell out of the way of the "natives" we liberated from oppressive dicataors"?
And didn't the highly centralized, planned countries all end up as "shining " examples, like East Germany,North Korea,Mao's China?
Reagan was correct in that government is more often the problem than it is the solution.
Bump.
In Texas especially.
It doesn't take all of the Guard ,just enough to secure the armory.
Once the bad guys have a heavy machine gun even a large group of patriotic ,but unarmed, people are done .
Ping

Was there ever a time that they were not given that training?
Many of us freepers can vouch for that training going back to our time in service into the early 1960s.
Here is a little photo of the 101st Airborne in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1957.
The vast majority of the military WOULD NOT go along with this. Also if he starts his “Civilian Crackhead Force” or whatever the jive pimp is brewing up they would fail miserably as we are armed, WELL armed, and we know how to use those arms.
This dingleberry is and will be greatly underestimating our will and means to fight if he tries this garbage.
Not always the case. Improvisational music is well respected, as is improvisational violence, on the side of liberty.
Just saying...

They didn’t resettle anyone though..

"The post-World War II occupation of Germany was a huge and diverse undertaking spanning almost eleven years, conducted in conjunction with three other members of the wartime alliance and involving in various degrees a number of US governmental departments and agencies. The occupation was, moreover, a major event in German history and in the history of the postwar world; and for the Army it was a mission second only in scope and significance to the war itself. The subject of the present volume is that Army mission, its origin, the manner in which it was defined, and its execution to June 1946 in the period of primary Army responsibility."
"The narrative begins in the 1930s, before the outbreak of war in Europe, and concludes in mid-1946, a little more than a year after the victory. Although the likelihood of US military forces occupying Germany appeared infinitesimal in the late 1930s and only slightly greater in the first two years of the 1940s, the actions taken in those years were in some ways more significant than the subsequent mission-oriented plans and preparations. It was, of course, most important that the Army, albeit somewhat reluctantly, had recognized the need for civil affairs-military government doctrine and training before the requirement to administer occupied territory was placed upon it. This recognition was a true innovation in the conduct of military affairs."
Yes, but is a Citizen a civilian?
I was arrested at that Department Of Justice building once, or at least taken into custody for a week or so and held in primitive conditions while being interviewed by the FBI and denied basic rights. Days of that confinement were spent hungry and cold inside the Washington Coliseum with the bulk of security supplied by uniformed soldiers with bayonets.
Well, to fit us all in they will have to empty all jails and prisons...those citizens will take care of the liberals that are outside. When no one has a gun, the criminals are happy..
Like a previous poster pointed out. They are not asking for individuals fluent in any foreign language. It doesn’t look, at a cursory glance, completely benign. As I’ve stated previously, unfortunately, the financial holes being dug cannot be escaped for decades if ever. obama needs a terrorist attack to get out of this mess and retain control. Call me tinfoil. I just don’t see any other way.
Food for thought.
I should mention that I was with thousands of other American citizens at the time.
