Byrd to Attend Sotomayor Vote
By Paul Kane
Marking his second appearance since a hospitalization May 15, Sen. Robert C. Byrd (D-W.Va.) will be on hand Thursday to cast his vote for Judge Sonia Sotomayor to be Supreme Court justice.
Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters that Byrd would be there for the formal 3 p.m. vote for Sotomayor, the second time the 91-year-old, the longest-serving senator ever, will cast a vote since being released from an undisclosed hospital in early July.

Disgusting. If gun rights groups want to protest, they should state that any Senator who votes to confirm will forever receive a “0” rating, regardless of their votes on previous gun rights issues. Voting for someone who doesn’t even believe in the second amendment is about as anti-gun as you can get.

There is about as much suspense for this vote as there will be for the Gators first game against Charleston Southern.

Even in victory it’s a defeat for the Dems, and for Obama’s touted judicial philosophy.
Sotomayor gave the same kind of testimony as Roberts did.
We knew Obama would make lousy court choices, But in this case maybe the damage has been held to a minimum. Maybe.
(Maybe it’s a stretch, but since she’s getting confirmed look at the bright side.)

La Raza in the Supreme Court. Great. (Did anybody in the hearings ask her about her membership in this racist organization?)

Certainly is a sign of the times and what direction they’re pushing for this country to go.... and it certainly isn’t toward freedom or protecting what it is that made this country the best in the world
