Over 10 years in Congress, U.S. Rep. Brian Baird has stayed tethered to his district, flying back to Southwest Washington for more than 300 sometimes-bruising town hall meetings during Congressional recesses.
But this year, he's literally decided to phone it in.
Instead of appearing in person, where "extremists" would have "the chance to shout and make YouTube videos," Baird said Wednesday, he's holding what he calls "telephone town halls" instead.
Baird said he's using the new system because he fears his political opponents may be planning "an ambush" to disrupt his meetings, using methods Baird compared to Nazism.
"What we're seeing right now is close to Brown Shirt tactics," Baird, D-Vancouver, said in a phone interview. "I mean that very seriously."
The coming telephone conference call would be Baird's third this year.
His office used its Congressional allowance to buy the necessary software around the start of 2009, a spokesman said.
What a gutless wonder.
Maybe you should send him a letter informing him that if he won’t hold his regular town hall meetings, there will be on scheduled by the public in his DC office or on his home’s front lawn.
It will be his choice.
Or are the Nazis the ones who follow Leader's orders to "get in their faces!" The government that collect the names and thoughts of those who oppose its programs. The ones who propose a sweet and tender ending of a life no longer worth living. Or those who confiscate the property and investments of others for the good of the state. Or those who align Government with Big Corporate enterprises like GE whose tentacles reach from your kitchen to your credit card? And with Financial giants like Goldman Sachs?

So those on the left have decided it is better not to face their voters? What a whimp and you want a wimp representing YOU? Can’t you just see the commercials that can be made from this commercial? Patriots during the revolutionary war pledged life, fortune, and liberty to face down their opponates and this guy hides from little old ladies with questions about healthcare?

It’s your president who is the avowed community rabble-rousing troublemaker who instructs his orange tee-shirt uniformed loyalists to “get in their faces.”
It’s your president and party who are advocating spreading the wealth of others in order to control the masses.
It’s your president and party who brought on the financial crisis and made out like the thieves they are.
It’s your president and party who are now asking neighbor to rat out neighbor while you stockpile information - to what end?
It’s your president and party that want a health care bill that isn’t a health care bill but an enactment of a full out anti-American takeover.
It’s your president who has all the “dear leader” qualities and symbols to boot.
Keep talking rats. Keep hiding like the cockroaches you are. Nothing you say or do changes the reality that you are the true Brown Shirt Party.

This is what I served twenty years in the Navy for?? To be referred to by ANY elected “official” in any way as some kind of Nazi, or that I am helping conduct a lynchmob??!!

This is the kind of leadership we have today, he is the kind of guy I would follow in war, or better yet how would you like this guy covering your six when bad things are happening?

Maybe this decision by Baird will ignite the fire under some great patriot in your neck of the woods. You could start an advertisement of sorts and see were it goes.
They sure are. They give themselves away. Accusing their opponents of what they are doing.
I am hoping all this nonsense explodes in their laps...2010 and a repeat performance in 2012.

Worth repeating.
We seriously need to begin making a concerted effort to take these reps out. With the American people fired up it may be a gift waiting to be opened. Grassroots at home. We already have 2 Repubs ready to take on the Dem rep in our district. They have vowed to stand behind whichever of them wins the primary.
Because us conservatives will skip a day of work to attend and comment where as the liberals won't get off the beach for anything but to cash their unemployment checks.;-)
