Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MO), the likely 2010 GOP nominee for Senate in this perennial swing state, says he doesn't want to talk anymore about whether President Obama was born in the United States, the Springfield News-Leader reports. But Blunt still doesn't seem to be giving up on it as a legitimate issue, either.
Blunt said last week that "I don't have any reason not to believe" that Obama is a natural-born citizen -- but at the same time he said the Birthers had a "legitimate question" about Obama's birth certificate. Well, the local media in Missouri is now asking him about it, and here's what he said:
"What I actually think is that you guys don't have any capacity to talk about that in a legitimate way, so I'm going to stop talking about it," Blunt told a reporter.
If requested, Blunt said, he would produce his original birth certificate to prove he was born Jan. 10, 1950, in Niangua.
By the way, Niangua is a small town in southern Missouri -- not a coastal city in Kenya.

How is he going to vote for Sotomayer. I thought he had to be in the Senate before they allowed him to vote. Are you saying that now you only have to say you might run for the Senate seat and you get a vote for Supreme Court nominess?

Constitution says that you have to be a certain thing to be eligible to be President. Documents exist which can certify this status. The current occupant of the White House refuses to produce such documents. And anyone who requests to see these documents is in the wrong? Believe me, I have had to produce my birth certificate for matters much more mundane than being President of the United States.

What if 350,000 FReepers mailed copies of our BCs to the White House!
To: rightly_dividing
If 350,000 Freepers each donated $1.00 to the Freepathon we would have enough money for the whole year.

What I actually think is that you guys dont have any capacity to talk about that in a legitimate way, The Garnett owned Springfield News & Leader has not printed an unbiased, legitimate news article in so long they would not recognize it if it ran over them in a truck.
The good news is,,,,they are experiencing their third layoff in the last 12 months.

This is really unfair. We have to understand that becoming the entire executive branch of the US government is difficult and this is Obama's first real job. He's trying very hard to produce a birth certificate and we shouldn't criticize him just because his first attempt (the COLB) was such a botched job. Real forgery is difficult! If we push him too hard, he's going to crack! So cut him some slack! Leave Obama Alone!!!

Oops!
Got him confused with a GOP Senator.
To: Maurice Tift
like the man said,”six months to pick a dog” so coming up with a valid birth certificate is going to take him a whole lot longer.

That would be playing into the enemy hands. Let’s wait until the usurper goes to jail and send him thank you cards or something.
