It would be well for Republican candidates to emphasize "smaller government", rather than "lower spending".

I believe the events of the past six months have taught people that the problem is greater than "high spending". Big Government begets Big Spending.

The only way to shrink government is to starve it of revenue. And responsibilities...

Good points. The Dems feel they won the election and it’s their turn to sack the treasury. We need fewer Statists and more Statesmen.
