SHH! Reminds of Oprah's car giveaway. The ingrates whined about the taxes. Other people should pay taxes, not the ones who receive the largess.

GMAB, a computer is, at its essance, a hard drive with files and software. "Build" a specific one to connect to the gov't that has NO files giving privacy away to the gov't.

It's not hard.

If I was a dealer, I would spend $350 at Costco for an Acer netbook and dedicate it to the C4C activity. Don't connect any regular business computers. The only thing the snoops will see is a clean Windows netbook.

Hell, it's probably the case any time you turn your computer on these days...

Technology can be used against us!!

They can track you when you use a cellphone.
Use a computer and they keep tabs where you go.
The digital converter box's are hooked into phone lines
so who knows.
If your state has a chip in your drivers license they can
track you at red light cameras.

I’m no fan of this socialist redistribution scheme, but the law specifically states that it is not to be considered as income for tax purposes. Saying that people will have to declare it on their tax forms is just flat wrong.

“Don’t connect any regular business computers.”

Trust me, if the government wants into your network, they’ll get in.

Techies were trying to warn people of this problem a LONG time ago.

It’s too late. The government has a real-time, birds-eye view of just about anything they want to see now.

Commercial encryption is a joke, the government has the punchline, and ISP’s rollover like dogs for the government nowadays.

You are being watched, or, at least, data you create today is being stored for ‘evidence’ later, if needed.

You folks that load up Facebook, and the like, with personal information are brave souls, or ignorant of the risks.

Anyway, this is how it happens, you ‘wake up’ one day and realize that you’re not free anymore.

This hard-left onslaught we’re suffering through right now might just be the BIGGEST case of this ‘waking up’ in human history.

This health care/cap ‘n trade thing has nothing at all to do with health care or global warming.

You are being enslaved and you don’t even know it.

But you will likely discount me as extreme/alarmist/kook like you did when I was trying to warn people about snooping gov’t computer goons ten years ago.

(you, in the general sense)

You mean the United States Government .....

The Chinese government has enjoyed that sort of entree for years, thanks to their army of hackers, crackers, and spamcriminals.

“The American Civil Liberties Union showed no interest in investigating the invasion of privacy and would only comment to us that “it is hard to believe that [the Obama administration] would do something like this.” Big Brother can get away with a lot when the watch dogs aren’t watching what’s going on. “

I mentioned Glenn Beck’s report on this to my 30 yr old son. His reply, while rolling his eyes....mom, you’ve got to stop listening to these conspiracy theorists.

No. Govt snooping on your PC when logged into a govt site is no different than spyware, malware, virus makers, etc.

Unexcuseable.

Oh, yes, the east is having a field day with our love of technology.

Americans forgot the commies are smart.

That’s why we’re in the mess we’re in right now.

I’m pretty sure this is a result of someone using a boilerplate warning for the system.

Car dealerships aren’t forced to participate in the program, right? It seems a bit naive to think that you can make deals with the government and not have give something precious in return. If privacy is important to you, maybe it’s better to not cooperate with the government.
