WASHINGTON (Reuters) - With President Barack Obama's political fortunes on the line, Democrats in Congress vowed on Monday to push healthcare reform through the Senate with or without Republican support.
"No matter what happens we are going to enact healthcare reform by the end of the year," said Senator Charles Schumer.
But that plan has run into problems. The health insurance industry is revving up its lobbying against sweeping reforms; Republicans decry as "socialist" a proposed government-run health plan; the public is wary of the cost. And the Democrats are divided over how to pay for it all.
"I think the timeline is more than fair," Schumer said. "If we cannot produce a bipartisan solution by then, you have to wonder if the Republicans would ever be willing to agree to anything."
He said Democrats were prepared to consider some "contingencies" for pushing a bill through Congress if Finance Committee negotiators -- three Democrats and three Republicans, fail to produce a bipartisan bill.
"These plans will likely be considered only as a last resort, but make no mistake about it, they remain on the table," Schumer said. "Health reform is just too important to let this window pass by."

Lets just call em what they are. Communists.
All the more reason to mercilessly hammer them over this monstrsity. We should all educate ourselves as to the specifics and then take that info to hammer them.
And if they cancel their meetings, then organize and take it directly to their offices.
Here is a link to the full House Democrat Health Care Plan in PDF. In Section 1233 E & F, pages 426-433, you find the part about mandatory end-of-life counseling for anyone over 65 years of age. Section 152 Page 50: All healthcare services will be provided without regard to "personal characteristcs" which is not defined within the document but is understood to include immigration status.
Section 224 b Page 125: The Secretary shall design and implement the payment mechanisms and policies under this section in a manner that (1) seeks to (B) reduce health disparities (including racial, ethnic and other disparities).
A lot more provisions now being documented at that site.
Donwload it, read it, study it, then hammer your reps over it and pass it on to all you know asking them to do the same.

Also, here's a large image of the Democratic (Obama) Health Plan chart-another Obama empty promise. This is the one the House democrats are censuring. Email these links or the image to everyone you know.

Obama and all those pushing his radical agenda are abject marxist ideologues. Their "fundamental; change" is nothing more than a destruction of the American free market and fundamental republican principle.

No one from the insurance industry is telling me to be against this monstrosity! I’m too close to being a senior to want the government rationing my health care and making my health decisions for me! Social Security and Medicare are bankrupt—what is the sense of giving even more power to the government? If they need more “savings” they can just lower the age of “senior” to maybe 55 years??
I want to see a private meeting between the former employees of Indymac Bank and Sen. Schumer.
Democrats in Congress better heed the public outcry that they have been ignoring for months. Heated demonstrations are beginning. People will not back down. They will not pay more taxes for everybody else’s healthcare....especially they refuse to pay for the healthcare of those who are not citizens or do not pay taxes (60% of America does not pay any income tax!!!!)
If Chuck Schumer keeled over from a heart attack right now the world would be a much better place. This guy is pure evil.
That’s an interesting point - I haven’t seen any uproar from the insurance industry either. Wouldn’t you think they would be against a program that could take a bite out of their pie? Or is medical insurance not one of their more profitable arms?
Sen. Tom Coburn, M.D. and Sen. John Barrasso, M.D. will talk about the latest on the health care reform debate live on “The Senate Doctors Show.” Watch tomorrow at 5:00 pm ET

Obamacare sounds like “Plantation Health Care” to me.

That’s what I’ve heard. Anyone know different?
