To get the economy back on track, will President Barack Obama have to break his pledge not to raise taxes on 95 percent of Americans? In a “This Week” exclusive, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner told me, "We’re going to have to do what’s necessary.”
Geithner was clear that he believes a key component of economic recovery is deficit reduction. When I gave him several opportunities to rule out a middle class tax hike, he wouldn’t do it.
“We have to bring these deficits down very dramatically,” Geithner told me. “And that’s going to require some very hard choices.”

Well, they won’t call it a tax increase. They will make up a name like a “deficit reduction plan” and the MSM and liberals will buy into it......

The last president to say he wouldn’t raise taxes and did was not re-elected and we got BJ Clinton instead.

Actually Clinton was the last president who promised not to raise taxes but did, and got reelected easily.
So Obama lied when during the campaign he claimed those in the middle class wouldn’t see their taxes go up “by one dime.” Obama is proving to be an absolute serial liar bordering on being a sociopath.
“I will cut taxes — cut taxes — for 95% of all workers and their families,” “if you make under $250,000 a year, you will not see your taxes go up one dime.” << ALL NOW VERIFIABLE OBAMA LIES.
Hey Tim, how about paying your own taxes before hiking ours??
When the pumped up money supply causes inflation to kick in, a whole lot more of us will be making $250K!!!
And then the scumbag Democrats passed the biggest tax hike in history and lost the House in 1994.
So, right in the midst of a recession with so many financial stresses on the middle class taxpayer - and the Obama administration is ready to raise taxes on the middle class! No surprise but this admission also raises the hope that the American people will finally wake up and realize that the guy they elected president is going to ruin them if they allow him to get away with it.
On top of all the other Obama debacles raising taxes on the middle class will be the kiss of death.
