"few things make thinking like a scientist more difficult than religion." It always amuses me when folks say stuff like this. Just who do they think began the modern university? It was the Catholic Church, and it was priests and monks who guarded scientific and mathematical knowledge through the Dark Ages, adding to it, along the way, so that those vaunted scholars of the Enlightenment, who were so giddy to reject religion, would have it to draw on, when they came into their own.

Back on Election Day, Barack Obama was a favorite of the religiously unaffiliated, winning an overwhelming 75 percent of a bloc that is growing fast from nine percent of the electorate in 2000 to 12 percent in 2008 and one that figures to be crucial to Obama's chances in 2012, especially as his once-stratospheric approval numbers settle down toward mere mortal levels. Conservatism is the politics of the faithful, not the anti-social conservative types.

I think it is just part of O’s deception plan. Put a few ‘token Christians’ in to satisfy the “belivers”, cause a bit of a rile among the godless/anti-Christians and secular humanists, while Obama marches on to a communist state.

Yes, Obama is marching on to a communist state, and he has put a few token Christians in his administration. No wonder the atheists have mixed feelings about him.
