It's interesting that FEMA and its Director, Mike Brown apparently did such a good job handing the FOUR hurricanes, one right after the other, in Florida in 2004, that we didn't hear anything negative from the media about him.

It was only after the storm surge of Katrina broke the already decrepit levees in New Orleans, that the MSM jumped all over him. And the all powerful 'racist' charge was leveled against both the President and FEMA, because so many of those affected by the levee breaches happened to be black. I guess all those white and black folks who lost their homes in the four storms in FL in 2004 didn't matter, nor did those who lost their homes and livelihoods on the MS Gulf Coast in Katrina.

The MSM hammered continually about Katrina, and FEMA's supposed inability to handle the situation without acknowledging the media's role in FEMA's hesitance to enter the city, because of the reports of shootings at emergency personnel. Nor did the MSM report the mishandling of the situation by Louisiana and New Orleans officials, because those people happened to be Democrats.
