Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials ordered a Maricopa County, Arizona sheriff to release dozens of illegal immigrants arrested during a recent sweep.
The three-day sweep caught up 74 suspected illegal aliens. However, when the Maricopa County Sheriffs office called ICE regarding the recently arrested illegal aliens, the agency ordered deputies to release all who did not have a criminal conviction in the U.S.
According to a report from Judicial Watch, this constituted a violation of the partnership agreement, known as 287(g), that the Maricopa County Sheriffs Department has had with ICE for two years.
The mystery order resulted in at least 25 of those caught in the sweep being detained for a few days only to be released without being deported by ICE.
Under the partnership program, ICE gets notified by the local authority to take custody and begin deportation proceedings. The highly successful program has come under fire by immigration advocates who succeeded in getting the feds to launch a racial profiling investigation of Maricopa Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
According to the Judicial Watch report, the mass-release is not the first case of friction between the feds and local law enforcement. Last year, ICE reportedly had feuds with local police departments around the country involving previously arrested illegal immigrants who committed atrocious crimes after being released rather than deported.
Local law enforcement officials claimed that they notified ICE to put a hold on the suspect, all of which had criminal histories, yet the federal agency said it was never contacted.
Reportedly, the failure to communicate resulted in six murders and a rape in different parts of the country Rhode Island, California and Colorado.

Illegal immigration advocates. Not even Newsmax can get it right.
"I'm not going to bend to the federal government, I'm going to do my job," he said. "I don't report to the federal government, I report to the people."
Way to go Sheriff Joe! Arpaio.
This man absolutely get's it...and always has.
We are at a pivotal crossroads in our nation's history. A very steep, very hard and dangerous roads leads one way...an abject fatal precipice leads the other.
A PETITION ON FACEBOOK FOR CONSTITUTIONAL RESTORATION
you are correct, Sheriff Joe should arrest the feds who ordered their release, for SMUGGLING, Aiding and Abetting, put them in Tent City. Then watch them cry
True freepers are not surprised by this action.
Those are not hollow words by Sheriff Arpaio. The Sheriff does NOT bend to the federal government in matters of law, the federal government has the LIMITED authority under the Constitution.
In the 70s in S. Texas, I witnessed our sheriff stand up to FBI agents that had come into the county unannounced during the “onion strikes” to investigate complaints of “civil rights violations” by our little group of LEOs trying to keep order during those tumultuous times.
He called them into his office and told them that they had no authority without his consent and to leave. They did. They apologized afterward and then asked permission to investigate the complaints which he granted but only while be monitored by the Sheriff and witnesses.
Sheriff also got an apology from FBI DC HQ. That was a great lesson to all of us. RIP Sheriff Oscar Correa, who showed us the way, a real sheriff of the PEOPLE.
BTW, all civil rights violations allegations were dropped by the Feds later.

Bus drivers needed to drive illegals to the friggin’ border. When the executive branch is run by racists and criminals, it’s up to the PEOPLE to get things done.
(It's a much longer walk back from there!)
OBAMA’s FAULT!!!
You can get a lot more of them on a ship- more cost effective!
We need a LOT more of it.
This administration could care less about the Constitution. Haven't you heard? The ass "won." lol..
Yeah, I know, but I can dream... *sigh*
“you are correct, Sheriff Joe should arrest the feds who ordered their release, for SMUGGLING, Aiding and Abetting, put them in Tent City. Then watch them cry”
I’d pay good money to see that!
It's more like a *nightmare.* lol..
