The right-wing bashing is so crude I couldn’t help but wonder if they were satirizing the Left. The holier-than-thou, self-righteousness of the episode where Lois does Fox News was totally over the top.
I guess they really are that crude and the “humor” wasn’t tongue-in-cheek?
Leni,
The same people that participate in a poll without knowing what it’s about would willingly sign a petition to ban dihydrogen monoxide.
If the fetus is not a “living” person and a woman having an abortion is merely exercising her “right to choose,” how could a cartoon episode dealing with the procedure possibly be construed as offensive?
This is the bind that occurs when one tries to defend the indefensible.
On a Q&A that was part of a Family Guy boxed set, Seth MacFarlane was asked how Rupert Murdoch felt about the
anti-conservative humor on the show. He said Rupert doesn’t
mind because it makes them a lot of money—high ratings,
lots of DVD sales; he implied Rupert was a capitalist first
and a Republican second, etc.
MacFarlane btw is lucky to be alive; he was in Rhode Island
on 9/10/01 and was due to leave on one of the planes out of Logan that would have crashed into the WTC but he missed his flight.
Which left him able to criticize W on the WOT etc on his show, and recycle the show into American Dad and the forthcoming spinoff of FG, Cleveland.
That's one thing I have to give South Park: they dump on everyone pretty much equally.
With that I put the laundry down and started talking to the children about masturbation. How you really need lubricant and the feeling is really so nice. I started telling them how you could go about starting the process and that you need an imagination to get the whole process started.
There were 5 children in the den scurrying for the remote to change the station. I told them to leave it on, if they could bring this stuff into my house then they should not have any issue with me discussing it with them. I am not going to tell them what they can watch but if they bring it into the house believe me I can make it the most uncomfortable conversation because I'm tired of the boiling of their minds. I'll just drop them into the deep end and push their heads as low as they want to go.
To say the least there are now many more than 5 kids that hang around this crowd that refuse to watch the Family guy.
That was one of the hardest times I can remember raising kids but it was one of the most valuable in getting them to realize they have choices and it is their choice to allow that CRAP into their heads.
I posted above that I instinctively knew by the title alone ("Family Guy") that it would not be a sitcom I'd care to watch. I knew that folks here would think I'm nuts for making such a "dumb, snap assessment" on just a title alone.
But I knew that in today's TV leftist la-la-land anything with "family" in the title would be automatically ANTI-family. This is the verbal twilight zone we're living in ("war is peace").....you get my drift.
Nothing here in subsequent posts about the dramatic or comedic contents of the individual episodes has led me to believe I was nuts or off-the-mark in any way.
Leni
This is really going to piss off the Manatees! It looks like Cartman is finally going to win!
Mark
Leni, the sad thing is that they are targetting the children and we have to be able to fight that.
If we stop them from watching it at home they will just go to friends homes. I want THEM to realize how corrupt the media is and I turn the hose on as hard as I can in fighting this CRAP
You’re exactly right. Some of our Christian brothers and sisters need to read Matthew 10:34: “Think not that I came to send peace on the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.”
Contrary to what the folks in Hollywood would have us believe, Christ was NOT a community organizer.
Don't forget Luke 22:35-38 in which Jesus tells us that we must arm ourselves. Jesus knew that we would be subject to physical danger because of our faith, and that we must fight it accordingly.
You’re right. We should arm ourselves for a battle for our faith.
