This picture truly is worth at least a thousand words.
I am stunned that the official White House Blog published this picture and that it is in the public domain. The body language is most revealing.
Sergeant Crowley, the sole class act in this trio, helps the handicapped Professor Gates down the stairs, while Barack Obama, heedless of the infirmities of his friend and fellow victim of self-defined racial profiling, strides ahead on his own. So who is compassionate? And who is so self-involved and arrogant that he is oblivious?
In my own dealings with the wealthy and powerful, I have always found that the way to quickly capture the moral essence of a person is to watch how they treat those who are less powerful. Do they understand that the others are also human beings with feelings? Especially when they think nobody is looking.
I think this photo constitutes another major Obama blunder.
As some AT commentators point out, this picture becomes a metaphor for ObamaCare. The elderly are left in the back, with only the kindness of the Crowleys of the world, the stand up guys, to depend on. The government has other priorities.

Crowley is a cop and his number one mission in life is to help people. Thats what you see here.
Of course the subjects follow behind the King.
*grins*...whatta moroon
Just maybe, in a moment of private soul searching, as “Prof.” Gates gazes on that picture, maybe he will realize he is the one now that needs to sing “Amazing Grace” and mean it.
OTOH Bambi is a Narcissist. Number one on his list is BAMBI!
Worth at least a thousand words.
Watching Sgt. Crowley help out this ranting maniac despite the tongue lashing the good Seargant received last week, makes me proud to be raised by a good Irish woman is also from St. Patrick’s parish in Natick, MA.
Good people they are.
I wonder what they learn at Rev. Wright’s Christian Church?
Obama stuck his foot right smack dab in the middle of this photo op. He ought to be the one helping Gates, if he were consistent.
Just a matter of time and I think even the liberal rags will start calling Obama the stupid president.
Gates is still not big enough a man to apologize to the cop.
To me Obama is saying “I’m done with this s***, take my picture!”
Ignoring that Bush II would not have arranged a situation like this, you can bet he’d be helping Gates along. Good grief. I miss America.
That really is a fantastic picture. Leads me to believe Crowley really was the good guy throughout this ordeal.
This photo kind of makes me see the professor is a different light as well. Zero is typical, rushing out to get his mug in front of the camera - as usual. No jacket, sleeves rolled up. Reagan was never seen, or hardly ever seen in the White House without his jacket or coat on.
Why doesn’t Obama send Jimmy Carter to work this one out.
Crowley had class.
It the Republican heirarchy had any smarts, they would point out what "American Thinker" thinker has shown. I doubt the Republican leadership will have the cojones to do this and it will probably be left to some group like Republican Trust (the Republican Moveon. org) to make the important connection.
Sadly, Carter is a better qualified mediator as no progress was made yesterday.
if you cannot get 2 grown men to settle a simple dispute in 30 minutes you suck as a leader.
You’re the Teleprompter of the United States, you squirelly little pissant, putcher coat on!
