We thought our column yesterday, in which we definitively debunked the notion that President Obama has failed to prove he was born in America, would put an end to birtherianism. As it turns out, some people simply will not listen to reason. It also turns out, however, that the birther industry has produced a whole host of other false theories about the president, many of which are not even consistent with one another. Since it appears that some people who are willing to listen to reason remain confused, we thought wed debunk more of the birther myths:
A child is not a natural-born citizen unless both parents are U.S. citizens. ****
Obama might be a citizen of Indonesia, not the U.S. ****
Obama might have been an illegitimate child. ***
Why has Obama spent X dollars defending himself against lawsuits when he could just produce the original birth certificate and make the whole thing go away? ****
The serial number of Obamas birth certificate is fishy. ****
In 2012, Obama will have a record on which voters can judge him; his pre-2008 personal history will surely be of no more interest than Bill Clintons Arkansas scandals were in 1996 or George W. Bushs military service in 2004. This is the sort of thing that animates partisans--and only partisans.

The link doesn’t go to the article.
It’s toward the bottom.
For the next set of elections, we need the candidates to disclose their long form birth certs. If they reveal their tax returns..what’s wrong with the birth certs?
We don’t have consensus that a COLB IS a birth certificate. It is an approximation.
We also don’t have any justification for why he doesn’t just go ahead and release the long form BC (apart from enjoying the diversion this creates).
Scroll down a ways.
The link works, article is 1/3 way down the pages mixed in with other stuff.
It makes a mockery of his claim to the “most transparent Presidency in history.” Shoot, his first EO was to close up all his personal records, and prior to that point he had furnished far, far less than John McCain did.

King Crimson fan?
I hope Taranto is being well compensated for carrying 0bama’s water for him.
The Constitution is the highest Law in the Land, and it is clear that Taranto is the latest oaf to shake his tackle at it and piss all over that sacred Document.
I have no further use for the miserable sonuvabitch.
Another Birther myth. The EO had to do with disclosure of records created by the Federal Government (the only kind of records covered by the Freedom of Infrmation Act), not records held by states (like birth certificates) or private institutions (like school records).
This is pretty damned flimsy. Many/Most people who are questioning now would conclude he's OK with a Hawaiian birth proven by releasing certified copy of the doctor's certification. But a point must begrudgedly be granted: dragging this out has already begun to cast question on the other players in the game.

Nice try Jim. Why don’t you and Peggy run over to MSNBC and talk about reality based Republicans.
We don’t need you.
Not a myth — it may not point at his birth certificate, but it points at his character.
In 2012, Obama will have only four years of history that we will be allowed to look at. The Wall Street Journal has really taken a dive here.
Nothing really matters. He's president. Judge him on that, not the Constitution.
*tih remains agnostic on the BC issue. But what a ball it is watching the anti-birther work themselves into a lather.
I’ll eviscerate the crap when I get time. And yes, I read every word.
