The false allegation that President Barack Obama was born in another country is more than a fact-free hit job.
Marked by accusations and backstabbing, it's the story of how a small but intense movement called "birthers" rose from a handful of people prone to seeing conspiracies, aided by the Internet, magnified without evidence by eager radio and cable TV hosts, and eventually ratified by a small group of Republican politicians working to keep the story alive on the floors of Congress and the campaign trails of the Midwest.
It's a powerful story about what experts call political paranoia over a new face in a time of anxiety and rapid change — the sort of viral message that can take hold among a sliver of the populace that's ready to believe that the new president is a fraud, and just as ready to angrily dismiss anyone who disagrees as part of the conspiracy.

One of the problems (among many) is the leftist news media saying that the “birthers” claim that Barry Soetoro is not a US Citizen, and unfortunately, you will also hear some of those “birthers” say just that. We all know that, technically, he is a US Citizen (but just what is his proper name, I don’t know...). The question is, whether or not he is a NATURAL BORN citizen, as required by the Constitution. If he cannot prove that he is a natural born citizen, he is NOT the President, but an usurper, a foreign tyrant.

The allegation is that Obama has not released his birth certificate or any other pertinent documents from his past.

No one seemed to mind these activities when they were directed at President Bush. Funny how that works out.
He can end the controversy by producing his long form birth certicate, his amended adopted birth certificate, and his passport records, for starters.

This part of the article is very misleading (dare I say inaccurate?). I believe the original ‘birthers’ were the folks who made a fuss about John McCain’s eligibility to be President. He cooperated and provided the necessary paperwork (including a long form birth certificate) to help quell that issue. Then, the next set of ‘birthers’ were those reasonable and mature folks who wanted Sarah Palin to prove that Trig is actually her son. The usual question - who’s the father? - quickly became ‘who’s the mother’ when Sarah Palin was announced as McCain’s VP candidate. We’re actually on the third incarnation of ‘birthers’. The person who wrote the article needs to go back another year or so to make the story correct.

Yea... OK so if his COLB is real, show the reciept in the Hawaiin Records for it. I am having mine sent to me, NO CHARGE for it either!
If there is nothing to the whole thing, then release the records!
Otherwise, I am not giving up. I think he is hiding something bad enough to cost him the office.
