I just received this e-mail from a career website similar to Monster, Hotjobs and Careerbuilder. I'd like to share the contents with FReepers who are looking for jobs in this recessionary period.

Research has shown us that the only hot job market in the U.S. today is the Federal job market. This was illustrated recently when the largest-ever federal job fair the "Partnership for Public Service" has held in Washington D.C.
This job fair has grown tremendously over the last few years.
For example two years ago there were 1,500 job seekers attending. Last year the number of attendies doubled to 3,000, and this year that number more than doubled to 6,500!
Representatives from all across the federal government...78 agencies this year...from defense to education to housing were in attendance.
Because of the new stimulus package, the Federal Government is seeking all possible candidates to fill somewhere in the neighborhood of 600,000 jobs in the very near future. Out of that 600,000 jobs nearly 200,000 will be entry level positions too, so everyone has a chance to gain employment.
Even with this gigantic push by the Feds to get the hiring line up and operation this one fact still remains, the application process is complicated and the preparation of the Federal Resume is difficult and complex.
In this economy finding a job with the Federal Government may be an option you should consider. You can look over the jobs available in the Federal Government by going to:
http://www.usajobs.gov This is the government employment website.
You will find all the jobs open along with all the requirements for the available positions.
This lets you see aheand of time if you are qualified or not.
To put a Federal Resume together I suggest hiring a professional resume writer. I recommend this because of two things :
1. These resumes and the supplemental documents required must be written in exact and particular formats that most people are not aware of and
2. Most of the top competitors for these positions are utilizing professional help in order to land the positions and so should you.

There are tech jobs available now.
Somehow, I expect that this market may dry up as fast as Cash for Junkers. Just look at the percentage of every appropriation bill that is being funneled to ACORN. There is something very ominous about that private Obama army that just isn’t yet understood.
Soon half the population will live in the DC area.
Our founding fathers are spinning in their graves.
Are you surprised? With all the new government programs I'm not surprised at all. Sad though.
Hint: Tech jobs are ALWAYS for people with CURRENT skills.
Hint 2: Morse Code Operator and Typewriter Repair are NOT current skills. . .
HINT 3: What is current today will be obsolete tomorrow.
HINT 4: It isn’t for instance, enough to know Oracle. People today will not hire you just because you are good at Oracle 8.0, They want someone who knows Oracle 11.0
With all the federal money floating around, I intend to supplement my income by writing grants.
I’m thinking that we need some freepers to join ACORN, I don’t know how to do it myself, I guess I’ll do some research. I know I could act like a bleeding heart liberal while I started influencing others or finding out their dirty little secrets.
The easiest is 'leased office furniture'. The fed funded org will pay full price for a complete office suite, leased for one year, then the leasing company will dispose of it to the person who sent them the biz for a nominal amount.....
Vast potential for profit, if there is an honest Inspectopr General. But that's another story.
If your game, please feel free to FReep Mail me for suggestions if you get involved.
(I'm considering it too - hell I've interviewed child molesters and baby killers, I think I can keep my cool with a bunch of lefties - maybe, but I'm bored and what do I have to lose?)
Aren’t many of these Fed jobs temporary, until either the task is completed or the money runs out?
