COLUMBUS, Ohio—A man fatally shot an armed intruder while protecting his 5-year-old relative late Wednesday, authorities said.
Columbus police continued to investigate an overnight shooting on the city’s Southwest Side.
CPD said the incident started with a home invasion but it was the suspect who was fatally shot.

Other than this guy, the others in the house were a woman, child and a bed ridden man. So this guy stepped up and did exactly what he should have done and I congratulate him for good shooting, a neck shot is tough.

Neighbors said activity at the home had caught their attention soon after the tenants moved in about two years ago.
They said people were constantly in and out of the house, a surveillance camera had been installed outside a picture window, and the windows had been covered on the inside with what appeared to be black plastic.
Police spent most of yesterday searching the house after obtaining a warrant. They would not say what they had found.
