From Sarah Palin's Facebook page:
As repeatedly stated to several in the media over the last week, former Governor Sarah Palin is not committed to attend the Simi Valley Republican Womens event at the Reagan Library and in fact is not attending the event. Neither the Governors state staff nor SarahPAC has ever committed to attending this event or speaking at this event, and even requested that the Governor's name be removed from the invitation several weeks ago. The Governor has other work and commitments to take care of at that time. She looks forward to visiting her friends in California soon.
All event requests must be confirmed not by the invitee but rather through Meghan Stapleton with SarahPAC. Additionally, all invitations bearing the Governors name must be approved by her attorney before proceeding.
Thank you. Meghan Stapleton
I bought in as a guest of a member. That won’t change my mind about attending but I probably won’t be witnessing any freeping in support of Sarah afterall. BTW, has this site been authenticated as the “OFFICIAL” Sarah Palin facebook site?
I totally agree with you, but at the same time I realize that Palin just resigned and probably got a crapload of stuff to do and spend time with her family. The blame falls on both camps, IMO. Palin's people need to confide with Palin herself and get verification so these rumors can get squashed, and these organizations need to stop saying "Palin's going to be speaking" when she hasn't committed to anything.

Palin’s staff TOLD the media:
Expected guest may be the operative phrase since Palins personal representatives say she has not confirmed her attendance at any event and that the Simi Valley party is one of hundreds of outstanding invitations she has received.
They told the press that she wasn’t confirmed and, later on, WOULD NOT BE ATTENDING. The press ignored it (or buried the truth) so as to have a story when she didn’t arrive (controversy BS).
Here we go again. Another big event where Palin doesn’t show up. Perhaps, the Washington Post is right about calling Palin’s staff as the gang that can’t shoot straight. These “maybe I’ll attend” answers she gives are making conservatives to lose patience with her. Giving wishy washy answers that could go either way, allows rumors to fester. Palin needs to show leadership and give definite answers on whether she’ll be attending events or not.
There are groups trying to cash in on Sarah. A perfect example is the Southern Republic Leadership Conference.
Read this...look for the “fine print”

All speakers are listed as invited. As the largest GOP gathering until the 2012 National Convention you can expect the top conservative leaders in the Country to be at the conference.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Notice the words “listed as invited” (not confirmed) yet they have her picture plastered on the home page. This is a “tease” to sucker people into buying tickets. Sarah and staff need to clamp down on this.
You may want to check Sarah’s Facebook account for official events.
It’s the media advisor’s job to let the team know how any decision made will be spun by the media, and former Gov. Palin is between media advisors right now. David Murrow, whom she hired not too long ago to handle the job appears to be staying on with Gov. Parnell.
Far be it from me to float any names (cough! — Jeri Thompson — cough! cough!) to fill the opening, however.

This is very disappointing. It seemed like the perfect stepping out party. Wonder where she will debut.
Maybe she can do a video message, or teleconference for the Reagan Library to ease the situation.
Because more people read social networking sites than they do the MSM.
I agree. I love this woman would do anything for her. However she does need better staff.
I agree.
I adore Sarah.
She needs to upgrade to a major league staff.
No, no, no—she and her people can’t be dangling these easy gottchas out there, she’s going to have the groups she wants afraid to invite her for fear that they’ll end up caught in such little PR nightmares. If she weren’t attending she should have clarified that publicly weeks ago. And it’s counterproductive of her to hold open the possibility that she will attend something for weeks and weeks like this.
She and her staff have got to stop pointing fingers at the media and others: they simply aren’t going to win that game. I’ve been a big supporter of hers all year, but they’ve got to grow up and deal with the realities of press coverage and the media.
SHE DID TELL THEM WEEKS AGO!!!!
The Simi Valley group JUMPED THE FRIGGEN GUN! THEY WERE THE ONES PROMOTING THE RUMERS BEHIND SARAH’S BACK.
Cut her some slack, there are people trying to cash in on her name.

YOUR INSIDE SOURCE ON WHAT’S HAPPENING
MSM IS FEEDING BS BURGERS (and some people are biting).
In my Email exchanges with one of the sponsoring groups board members, the woman was very clear that Governor Palin MAY attend.
This is too clear a pattern now, and she should have cleared it up publicly if that’s what was going on. But it sure looks like she gave them a conditional ‘yes’ that they ran with, she decided not to attend, and it blew up on her yet again.
Ultimately it doesn’t matter whether the group jumped the gun, it reflects back poorly on her. She’s not the first high profile name to be in demand, but she and a more competent staffer than she has now have got to handle it better.
she did not give them a conditinal yes. you’re eating up the spin.
show me the proof she said yes? If you’re basing it out of the MSM, then give your head a shake.
When she says “has not confirmed” it means has not confirmed. It doesn’t not say “I’m attending”.
you’re spinning. No go back
Unfortunately, this gives undeserved credibility to Palin’s detractors that she is an incompetent bimbo. The liberal and RNO detractors will ask, “How can she be a leader if she can’t handle a simple speaking engagemet?”
sniff, sniff, sniff....I smell a “concern troll” or a Mittens supporter.
Ya’d think she and her staff would have figured out by now that placeholder “maybes” don’t cut it. Giving a group enough hope to publicize that she may appear and then deciding not to go and getting into accusations just isn’t a PR winner. I’ll save my blaming the media for those copious circumstances where it really is their fault.
???
Sarah can't confirm these things herself? This doesn't make any sense.
