As repeatedly stated to several in the media over the last week, former Governor Sarah Palin is not committed to attend the Simi Valley Republican Women’s event at the Reagan Library and in fact is not attending the event. Neither the Governor’s state staff nor SarahPAC has ever committed to attending this event or speaking at this event, and even requested that the Governor's name be removed from the invitation several weeks ago. The Governor has other work and commitments to take care of at that time. She looks forward to visiting her friends in California soon.
All event requests must be confirmed not by the invitee but rather through Meghan Stapleton with SarahPAC. Additionally, all invitations bearing the Governor’s name must be approved by her attorney before proceeding.

Depends on Alaska law, which is quirky to say the least. I think it’s safe to say that there’s still something going on behind the scenes that we do not know about, with regard to the anklebiters and their ethics non-sense.

Well, I’m a member of Team Sarah.com and there’s nothing there that I can find about this! I wonder if it’s for real, it’s actually NOT Sarah Palin’s FB but a page made up just for this announcement...seems fishy to me! Let me go look at Team Sarah some more...
I wouldn’t be surprised to see that you have it right. The crazy obsessed PDS’ers are trying to destroy her in or out of office.
John Ziegler has been saying for weeks that this was a set-up by the media. Confirming that she is attending an event without official confirmation from her people. But Meg Stapleton should have issued a press release sooner, saying that Sarah has not agreed to attend this event and is not sure she is coming. Even on the bottom of the invite for the event it says that she might not attend, says so right on the invite
“Again we appreciate your interest, however we are very protective of our organization, and of Governor Palin. While Governor Palin is slated to speak, the possibility does exist that she may not be able to attend, and reservations are non-refundable. No press passes or media passes will be issued.”
Better get use to it. It seems like the wave of the future. I even signed up to Twitter and Facebook just to keep up with the latest. Guess I'm a twit now.

I don’t mind social networking sites, but it just seems there would be a more dignified way of putting out a news release or letting the Simi Valley GOP women’s group put out the announcement.

No.
This begins to look very unorganized and even incompetent after a time. It reminds me of all the delays and rumors and false starts of Fred Thompson’s campaign. I know I saw it said on FR on several occasions that Sarah would speak at the Reagan Library event.
Making excuses, and spinning everything as some grand strategy, will only sound plausible to Sarah’s biggest supporters, similar to the weeks of excuses we got from the Fredheads.
They need to get their act together.

Unfortunately this has happened before, people putting her name on an invite without her permission. But as far as the Simi Valley Republican party is concerned, they did put in their email that they did not guarantee that she would be there, it was the media that did it. Spreading the word that she is attending an event that she never said she would be attending. Sounded like a set-up from the start, say she is going, make it “official” even though Sarah herself never said so, get people all excited, then BAM, Sarah says she is not going, people get pissed off at her and think she is a flake. John Ziegler called it two weeks ago, calling it a media set-up, looks like he was right on the money. Well, for anyone that IS going, he will be there along with Tammy Bruce, you can meet them, they are both great people
There's nothing unprofessional about it. The Simi Valley women forgot one important detail when they were using Sarah Palin's name to make money...they forgot to get a confirmation from her.
I've never seen a politician like Sarah Palin, ever, after 5 decades of watching politics.

I love Sarah Palin to death and this is probably the first time I’ve been let down. I always looked at her as a female Reagan so not going to this event is a big disappointment. Whether she agreed originally to go or not....I read she was going and thought it would be great to be associated with Reagan.
