Did he grow up there? I got a cousin that was born in Germany, but she hates bratwurst and sauerkraut.
According to Wikipedia, Specter was raised in Russell, Kansas. He started at the University of Oklahoma but then transferred to the University of Pennsylvania, and apparently has lived in Pennsylvania since then--so only the first 18 or 19 years were spent in Kansas.
I don't know if there is any difference between Wichita cuisine and Russell cuisine.
