Following on the hundreds who protested Barack Obama this morning in Raleigh, the Associated Press reports several hundred protesters were gathered in Bristol, Virginia as of 3:16 p.m. for the scheduled 4 p.m. Obama town hall meeting at a Kroger grocery store:
A crowd of more than 200 protesters opposed to President Obama's health care overhaul have gathered outside a Kroger supermarket in Bristol, Va., awaiting the president's arrival for a town hall meeting.
Some held signs reading, "Obamacare is political malpractice" and "Keep your hands off my health care."
The Wednesday protest drew people from the tri-state region of Virginia, Tennessee and North Carolina.
The Roanoake Times reports a pro-Obama rally was organized by the leftist labor union SEIU:
A few blocks from the Kroger a group of supports shared their concerns with the current health care system and reasons why they are urging for an overhaul of the nations health care system.
Sponsored by the Service Employees International Union, the rally sought to emphasize the hardship health care premiums have placed on small businesses. It also highlighted the problems Virginians face in paying for prescription drugs.
The Times also reported on the anti-Obama protesters:
Protesters were also waiting for Obamas arrival.
Well be here until the president sees us, said Katie Hughes, 18 of Kingsport, Tenn. It makes me mad. I mean this could mean our grandparents wont be taken care of.
The largest group of protesters gathered outside the Kroger parking lot.
Rho Griffin and her husband Blake drove down from Roanoke to tell the president to keep his hands off their health care.
Great job tri-state tea partiers!
If congress passes that monstrosity they may very well be dead in 4 years.
manc, you are doing a great work by warning people about socialized health care. You can do more with your British accent than any of us natives. People will believe you, but to them we are just nutty right wing conspirators. Thank you for helping.
Yeah it was cool to see so many standing up for American values.
I did learn something though...when you go to a protest, take a bag. I carried so many things that my arms and hands tired out pretty quickly. lol
You know, for all the whining the left does about supposed “astroturfing”, they seem to turn a blind eye when labour unions organize their Obama rallies.
Why, of course, we peasants wouldn't have enough sense to form our own opinions. It must be that evil Rush Limbaugh or that Fox News, don't you know.
This man makes me ill.

LOTS of booing, and there are certainly more than 200 there. You can see around 100 just in the narrow field of view of this one camera along the motorcade route.
They don’t seem to have managed to get any of the protesters on the video on their web site. All they have is this text article:
Supporters, protesters brave rains

I heard a guy on the Phil Valentine radio show last night say that there were about 2500 people there!! He said people traveled great distances to come protest. I’m not surprised at that. At the tea party in nearby Kingsport,TN in April there were over a thousand people in attendance. People are finally figuring out Obama and his cohorts agenda out and are RILED!!!!
