The Ontario government has filed a defence against a claim made by a Hamilton woman who's at the centre of the U.S. debate over health care.
Shona Holmes is featured in a TV campaign in which she claims she had to mortgage her home and travel to a U.S. clinic for brain surgery in 2005, due to a six-month wait for care in Canada. The ad, which began airing about two weeks ago in all 50 states, warns Americans to reject Canadian-style health care because it failed her. In the ad, Ms. Holmes states that if she relied on her government, she'd be dead.

Canada ping!
I confess I have no idea what filing a 'defence' means.
Does Obama have a plan? I sure haven't seen or heard about it. The reason he tanked last week is because he spoke in generalities (as usual) and then of course he resorted to his usual and simplistic "greedy bigot" talking point as the explanation for everything.
I would not believe these socialist liars for one second.
Proof?:

Ain't this the classic simple-minded statement of an Obama supporter?
She filed a lawsuit two years ago and the Canadian government just got around to filing a reply in thier court system. Odd coincidence considering that she just started showing up on TV.
An argument or piece of writing in support of something that has been criticized or questioned.
Good post.
Yep, a coincidence. Just a coincidence.
I like the way that ad ends with “government getting between a patient and her doctor”. Isn’t that what the pro abortion people always say?
Here is a question for our Canuck Freepers:
How many lawuits have been filed against the government for inadequate care? How many of these lawsuits were terminated because the patient died before they came to court due to delays in the response of the government?
I expect that the numbers are substantial.
Under Ubama’s Nazicare, Shona would have had immediate access one of America’s best brain surgeons.
Just like Ted Kennedy.
Exactly the same health care as senators and congressmen get.
Ubama said so.
...and I have a bridge for sale.
LOL!
And she’s not the only one.
Don’t people living in Ontario now pay a monthly premium for their “free” healthcare?
Not sure about that. But I do know that when I was a student in New Brunswick in the early '80s, the government introduced a six dollar fee at the emergency room. The hue and cry was unreal. The fee went away after a few months.
The same political party that argues that no one has any business interfering with a woman having her doctor remove her unborn child like it was some type of tumor would prohibit that same woman from having an actual tumor removed without government approval... she might just be sent home with some pain pills to die if Obama declares it is cheaper.
The medical center which I frequent in the Detroit area always has Ontario plates in the parking lot.
