Romney, Huckabee and Palin are GOP Favorites for 2012 [Giuliani is still around, too] [sick]

Three Republicans are bunched within five points of each when potential GOP presidential candidates are matched up for 2012 with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney barely on top, according to a Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll conducted July 21-22. The margin of error for the part of the survey dealing only with Republican voters is 6 points.

Romney leads with 22 percent, followed by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee with 21 percent and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin with 17 percent. Former New York City mayor (we're dealing with a lot of "formers" here) Rudi Giuliani polls 13 percent, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich gets 9 percent and by the time we get to an elected official, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, he scrapes together 3 percent. Ten percent say it's too soon to decide.

you really do have to hold your nose and pull that lever.

The current two party monopoly is the result of a majority thinking that way. Enjoying the results so far?

I like to post this as much as possible for any Romney-bots who happen to be reading... LOL...

Unlike Romney’s “National Council for a New America,” Free Republic is a conservative site!

If there is anyone here who doesn’t understand why we cannot support a slick socialist politician like Mitt Romney, God help you, but you’re on the wrong website. We went through this with the abortionist, gay rights activist, illegal alien supporting, gun grabbing Rudy Giuliani until someone created another website call WAnkers for Rudy and they all flew the coop. Hopefully, before too much FReeper blood is shed, someone will create a WAnkers for Romney site and we can be left to fight the good fight as we see fit!

FR is not for everyone!

Any other questions, Romney-bots?... :-)

Romneycare will sink him in the primaries...I hope.

Health care might well be a dramatically different issue in 2012, even a dead issue. I wouldn't count on that issue sinking Romney in 2012.

Don’t trust him. He’s a RINO. Worse than a RINO. He’s the enemy within.

You never know where he honestly stands on any issue. What he promises today, he flips on tomorrow. It all depends on which way the political winds are blowing and which office he’s running for. He’s a liar.

He’s a big government socialist. His RomneyCare state run health care system is a big government boondoggle. It’s tyranny. Government provided, er, forced health care is tyranny not freedom or free markets. Do not believe the socialist propaganda supporting such nonsense.

Socialized medicine is simply another step to socialized government. Government solutions at the point of a gun are the opposite of what we need. This is socialism! Fascism! Mitt Romney is proud of his big government socialist creation and thinks it would be great for all of America. He wants to force you to accept what the state says is right for you. Your taxes will go up as government costs soar and the quality of the care you receive declines. High costs, long waits, rationing, poor or no service, big government force in other areas is where it leads.

“Hello, we’re from the government and we’re here to help you.” Believe that and you are a sucker!

Say NO to socialism! NO to RINOism! NO to Mitt Romney!!

Rebellion is brewing!!

Warning to Romney-bots...

I'd like to see Romney as Treasury Secretary and Rudy as Homeland Security Secretary so long as he doesn't use the office to advance his anti-gun agenda. Seeing the results of the last primary season, do we really need any of these guys as President?

How about Bobby Jindal? Should we be scrapping him after ONE poor speech?

I'm puzzled over Palin’s resigning.

The current two party monopoly is the result of a majority thinking that way. Enjoying the results so far? My opinions and action are not going to affect the majority one way or the other. Ultimately, I am a realist, we will always have this two party system.

I am not certain or convinced of the reasons for this, but I am absolutely sure about one thing, this country may not survive one term of Obama, God help it if we have to endure two.

Funny thing is, I’d vote for Rudy over Romney. Rudy would probably agree to leave gun control alone and keep his word about it. Plus, Rudy is pretty much “what you see is what you get” and not a lot of subterfuge to hide his liberal tendencies. Romney is dishonest in pretending conservatism he doesn’t possess, like McInsane.

Not that I would ever want to vote for either of them I just think the Rudy is a preferable over Romney. And preferable over any Dem.

There I said it.

Sarah for President.

The only acceptable candidate is Palin.

What about DeMint, Barbour, or Jindal?

That’s what I really want to see Sarah come out strongly for—the 2010 elections. And once the Barry and Nancy apply enough carrots and sticks to the Blue Dogs on health care, she should really focus on conservative Republicans.

Nominating the chameleon Romney is the easiest way for the GOP to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, next to re-nominating McQueeg.

Let's see them go all the way and pluck ol' Bob Dole from the dustbin of history and run him again. Jim Bunning could be the running mate. What a winning team that would be! /SARC

DeMint should be a second-term Senator by then, and if he manages to be both outspoken and politic in the meantime, with a little more foreign affairs focus, he wouldn’t be a bad #2 at all. (Though I think it’d be more likely a compromise RINO.)

This poll puts Obama at 62% approval rating. Rasmussen puts it at 49. Quite a difference. Rasmussen was ranked #1 in poll accuracy during the last cycle, Opinion Dynmaics nearer the bottom. Personally, I wouldn't pay much attention to this or any media-driven poll at this point.

BTW, this poll also says 67% of Republicans approve of their own party. No way I believe it's that high...LOL.

That is the understatement of the month. Those two are spineless. Sarah is rock solid willing to take on whoever attacks her.
