MSNBC: Congressman Calls for Obama to Apologize
NewsReal Blog ^ | July 29, 2009 | John Perazzo

Yesterday on MSNBC’s Hardball, Republican Congressman Thaddeus McCotter of Michigan told Chris Matthews why he has called for a formal act of Congress telling Barack Obama to apologize for saying that Cambridge Police Sergeant Jim Crowley had “acted stupidly” in arresting Henry Louis Gates two weeks ago. (Snip) While apologizing to Crowley and to the Cambridge police would indeed be an appropriate thing for Obama to do, an act of far greater significance would be for him to retract another portion of his statement – his claim that the arrest of Gates was emblematic of the “long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately.”

What’s one more apology anyway? Besides, this one is legit.

I really like this guy. Plus 'The 2nd Amendments' is a really cool name for a band. ;o)

CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait (Dec. 29, 2005) - Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.) plays the lead guitar for the Second Amendments band which played a concert for troops at Camp Arifjan.

He can also apologize to the medical profession he slandered, while he’s at it.

Obama only apologizes for America, not for himself.

Obama only apologizes for America, not for himself.

Which isn't an apology at all, but an affixation of blame.

An ACT OF CONGRESS calling for Obama to apologize? What a friggin waste of time. Get real. Wacko Congressman helps destroy Republicans credibility with public.

. . . . a formal act of Congress telling Barack Obama to apologize . . . . .

'Scuse me!!?? Zero is an idiot and a moron and he proved it when he started this whole "Gates-gate" kerfuffle. But, with everything going on in America, today (and the world in general), if this is the most important thing this guy thinks that the Congress needs to do, then Congress needs to adjourn. They apparently don't have enough to do (like reading zero's DeathCare bill!) and should stop wasting our time and money and just go home!!

We'll call them if we need them to go back in session again!!

I do to. Smart with a very dry wit. I always try to catch him if he’s on Red Eye, and I can stay awake that late.

McCotter is GREAT! He is articulate, intelligent and this is a great way to make a point. We all know it will go no where, but it sure highlights the psyche of the Big O.

This will actually "harden" Obama against making an apology.

His narcissism and his huge ego make it impossible for him to ever be contrite and even suggesting that he apologize will just anger him and increase his resolve to not apologize.

There’s a lot of YouTube videos of McCotter. He’s is great.

Caught him on CSpan the other night displaying the Obamacare chart that the Dems won’t let the GOP mail out.

In the video with Chris Matthews I like the way he patronizes Chris with rapid answers to Matthews absurd questions, then he zeroes in in his main point.

It takes a lot of fortitude to fence with a mental midget like Matthews for almost 9 minutes. Exhausting, actually.

Chris Matthews gave him a fair shake. What’s up with that?

That’s two this AM, Michelle Malkin was the other.

Somethings wrong.

What comes to mind is the unavoidable certainty that Obama has NOT brought anyone together. People from all backgrounds are more race-conscious, and more angry about race, than they’ve been in decades.
